Team player

I am a God fearing young man who has been working in a difficult department(taxi industry ) with many different clients. on a normal day i capture information i get from the client on the tsa system and submit the application for verification at our head office if the file is approved the client is called to bring his old taxi to be scrapped and within 14 working days he get his 60 thousand rands. At times one would get difficult clients who does not have all the documents for scrapping and since I am humble I would humbly explain to him what he has done wrong and we rectify the error so that in the end he gets all the best attention. I enjoy working with people young and old because I learn a lot from different types of people.

Pros: promotion based on my hard work
Cons: team player.

Not for the faint hearted

Has been a fantastic and challenging experience from the beginning. Working in the Transport Industry especially the Taxi Industry has made me a better individual and a different experience all together. Everyday is a different challenge and a different goal to be achieved. Timelines and having to be patient has been the greatest challenge for me as an individual but through commitment and perseverance I have succeeded I don't regard myself as just a Manager but working for this company has made me into a great Leader as well.

Pros: Ability to work under pressure and meet Deadlines
Cons: Pateince to an extent, rather do it myself instead of waiting

Excellent Learning curve

When I started as a compliance officer, I found it to be challenging to build relationships with fellow employees as to them it seemed that I was 'policing' them when I conducted compliance audits. After a year or 2 I built good and trusting relationships with each of the staff members across the country as I gave them comfort that I am doing my job to assist and improve the processes and not to look for faults. I love traveling to the provinces as I get to assist by reaching for and maintain a high level of compliance to established processes.

Pros: National exposure to all kinds of differences in processes from one province to another
Cons: The contract with the Department of transport is nto stable.

Knowledge of how the taxi industry operates

It is a very welcoming company with growth and other opportunities, the environmental culture is very easy to adapt to. I learnt that taxis can be scrapped and deregistered, also the procedure to follow in order for that to be processed. I enjoy that I can be able to work without supervision and still deliver the results. We have a warm relationship with my co-workers and able to communicate at any level.

Pros: Adapting easy to the environment and grasping new concepts is an advantage
Cons: Being able to multitask and cooperate in changing job description

Taxi Recapitalisation

Financed by National Department of Transport to scrap old taxi from the industry.It is a contaract employent based on years allocated by government by means of tender.

Pros: Get unroadworthy taxis off the road
Cons: Assisiting with deposit money towards purchasing new taxi

Excellent Learning Curve

After 5 years, I was the only employee left in the department and had to temporarily fill the roles of Internal Auditor and Risk Manager and done so with no supervision. All my was completed timeously and accurately.

Pros: Excellent Learning Curve and great experience
Cons: I did ot receive a promotion
