Check stock levels upon receipt of stock requirements from branches and liaise with branches. Liaises with branches regarding queries and provide technical support or go to the customer when required. Take charge when the manager is absent. Fault finding in a component level. Testing communication, calibration and printing in all types of scales. Uploading software from computer to scale. Solder and de-solder electronic components on a PCB’S. Lay-out printed circuit board art work (modification). Assemble electro-mechanical devices to form functional equipment. Using analogue and digital instruments to measure electronic components. Test microprocessor systems by means of appropriate hardware (upgrading hardware). Test microprocessor systems by means of appropriate software (upgrading and uploading software). Read, interpret circuit and schematic diagrams. Repairing power supplies unit in a component level. Test, trace and repair faults in switching power supplies.

Excellent learning curve

Dealing with different challenges given to you stock available and ensuring that the staff is doing the right thing, what I love about the job that each day it is a different challenge. My relationship with the workers are all good I don't make myself as a supervisor over them but more like team leaders with them I assist them with their own work even if it is not my job.

Cons: No opportunity for growth

Industrial Technician

I work on 34 computerized scales on the County Fair Epping site where my company supplies thermal lables and quality helpdesk service. Pros: The pros would be the benefits like medical aid and pention fund and commision based income and the fact that I dont work overtime and weekends
Cons: The traveling distances are very far to certain clients making the job a challenge
