My name is Christiaan Stephanus Buys (Stiaan) and I am a 50-year-old goal orientated Civil, Buildings and Aerial Line Construction Site Manager/Agent for Eskom in South Africa the past 9 years on the constructing of their new 765kV Substations in South Africa (Civil, Concrete Works, Substation Buildings, Steel Assembly and Erecting and H&S) These projects were all in the region of 400 million + South African Rand. All my projects the past 9 years was completed within time with no lost time injuries and complete within the allocated time frame and all the quality and technical requirements were met. My contract has come to an end with Eskom and I am looking for any civil construction opportunity available in Southern Africa or Africa.

Really good exposure, learnt a lot.

A typical work day is usually quite busy - the admin department always has something to do. My co-workers have a good sense of humor so that makes the environment a pleasant one to be in. In spite of the learning curves and the few bumps in the road I have encountered, being at Thabile has been an enriching and rewarding one. It it unfortunate that the company has become unstable and that is why I'm looking for something else.

Good Business Exposure

Good experience

It was a good environment for an electrical engineer/ to acquire good skills in a variety of projects. I have grown as an electrical engineer/technician from junior level to the management position. The company has a good culture which has made every employee feel like they are at home. The management was approachable and open to innovative solutions.

Excellent learning curve

doing more of projects schedules for HVAC projects and automation for lightings good working environment with excellent employees. i have learned more how to do paper work for different projects and how to do the time sheets
