THALES IS AN INTERNATIONAL COMPANY AND AS A BUYER I GOT A OPPORTUNITY TO UNDERSTAND INTERNATIONAL AND LOCAL PURCHASING , I HAVE EXPERIENCE IN AIR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT EQUIPMENTS ,GAUTRIAN AND DEFENCE COMPONENTS,MY TYPICAL DAY TO DAY WORK IS UNDERSTAND THE NEED OF INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CUSTOMERS AND TRY ALWAYS TO MEET THE DEADLINES, I HAVE GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH MY CO WORKERS ,I HAVE LEARNED A LOT FROM BIDS ,PROJECTS WHERE I CAN ACTUALLY SAY I AM AN EXPECT IN MY COMMODITY PURCHASING ,I LIKES CHALLENGES ON A DAY BASIS WHERE THE CUSTOMER DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WANT BUT WHAT THEY NEED , BEING PART OF SOLUTION WHERE THE END USER CAN BE SATISFIED AND APPRECIATE THE RESULTS.THE DIFFICULT CHALLENGE IN MY COMPANY IS GROWTH WHERE YOU BE AN EXPECT IN YOUR COMMODITIES BUT THE IS NO NEW OPPORTUNITY WITHIN .

Challenging but Rewarding Learning Experience

I will describe my days as never a down moment… It is a great experience to go to work daily knowing that your day might never be the same as yesterday in terms of the challenges that are awaiting you as well as in terms of the learnings that you need to grabs from working in a multicultural and multinational company dealing with various countries and regions. It is rewarding to pass down these learnings to a team of 5 to 7 people in a steady way and very exciting to see them grow and see the company reaching its targets or analysing and explaining the reasons for not meeting these targets and focusing at the scenarios that would assist in ensuring that remediation actions are taken towards recovery.

Pros: Exciting Working Environment - Challenged to Reach to More
Cons: Projects Implementations Rotation Levels too High

Quality and Quality Assurance manager, depatment and MANCom leadership.

1. Run a department with regards to quality, production, configuration , customer services and material management & confrol. 2. Forecast & Budget, resources & manpower planning. 3. Continuous and improvement in all domains. 4. Execute and deliver products and projects on- time, in budget and meet all contractual requirements. 5. Strategic planning and metrics.

Pros: Understanding all the business processes.
Cons: Processes that are not institutionalised.

Excellent learning curve

I strive to complete all task I have a good work relationship with my colleagues I have learnt to process invoices on SAP I enjoy reconciling,remitting invoices and responding to queries It's demanding

Pros: Great learning opportunity

Good exposure

I have been interning and working at Thales South Africa Systems since August 2016. It has been a wonderful experience, I have been exposed to a variety of projects from Naval to Artillery to commercial and I have worked with different experienced technicians from the Thales.

Pros: Good people
Cons: Small in size
