My 3 months at Biovac

I have recently been employed by The Biovac Institute, as a Fixed Asset Administrator, responsible for updating/creating an asset register, for a period of 3 months. The Biovac Institute taught me to be deadline driven, think on your feet, time management, communication skills, having to conduct a physical verification of all fixed assets on site, getting permission/access to restricted area on site, compare the physical verification findings to the existing asset register and sort/solve any variances between the two list. Biovac gave me a great opportunity to broaden my knowledge of the finance module.

Fantastic experience gained

Fantastic company to work for and gain experience in all sectors of Manufacturing industry. We have different departments with different functions but we all work together like links of chain. Biovac set value and all staff has same goal in mind.

Perfect Learning environment

Perfect environment to learn, energetic young staff Working for a cause is very rewarding Exciting audits. Work relationships are perfect I enjoy auditing and assisting people. Great place to startup and learn It is very challenging to change people's mindsets about quality compliance.

Excellent learning experience

I over see the Filling and Formulation aspect from project to completion, which includes implementing processes, writing procedures and manufacturing batch books, troubleshooting and optimizing processes, managing compliance in the department.

Pros: Great experience as exposure
Cons: Long hours, operational structure needs attention

Excellent Learning Experience

The Company is still growing and has great opportunities for learning. We have accomplished so much in a short period of space. Continuously changing and improving and a great quality cultured place.

Poor corporate culture

There was a culture of prolonging outcomes to such an extent that deadlines were missed, which reflected poorly on everyone involved, not only those who prolonged these outcomes. I do not feel comfortable elaborating on the nature of these outcomes or deadlines, since there was strict confidentiality at this company, but suffice it to say that this culture made working there stressful and unsatisfying.

Pros: Relatively good salary
Cons: Poor corporate culture

A great experience to give insight on the industry.

The company shares valuable experience on the pharmaceutical industry and the company is willing to train you to be more efficient at your role. The machinery is quite intricate which allows you gain knowledge you wouldn't learn about through your education.

Cons: Limited growth

Great learning opportunities about industry.

The company is growing and expanding creating more opportunities for growth in most departments. Company culture great for young graduates and professionals who are still learning about industry. Coworkers mostly friendly and understanding. Management is easily accessible for consultation or suggestions. Maintaining quality while performing engineering tasks is challenging yet hood learning curve.

Cons: No benefits
