I am currently employed at The Body Shop. We specialise in the bodycare, fragrances, skincare as well as make-up. We cater for ages from +7 years old to +80. We interact with our customers, doing demostrations, promoting and conducting skin care consultations and even matching foundations. Its a great place to work, every day you learn something new. The most challenging is having to deal with more than one customer, but with patience and understanding we are able to assist everyone. I have learnt so much in my short time and have gained much knowledge in the world of retail and beauty. The most challenging is when receiving our daily stock which ranges from 5 tote bins to 12, its hard work but working with an efficient team the daily tasks run much smoother. Its a lot of fun working at the body shop, you get to deal with foreign customers which is always fun and the co-workers make the job fun and exciting.
Pros: Working on the waterfront and interacting with all kinds of customers, especially foreigners.
Cons: Working retail hours, which trades from 9am - 9pm.

Learning curve
The body shop its a good company that value their employees as well as customers, it has a fair community trade within their product. Iv gain a lot of experience with customers service and to know also the different types of human skin and ingredients that are used within their products.

No growth oppportunities
I loved with working with 2-3 of my co workers, they're also not there anymore. The Body Shop does not really care about the wealth of their workers. They only care about selling products nothing else matters and the amount of hours and hard work you put you you don't even get half enough to cover your travel costs. THE DOES NOT CARE!!

Keeping calm and always sympathizing with a customer regardless of who is in the wrong
Relationship with Co workers is healthy and I have learned how to deal with an handle cuztomers well. As well as to give costumers maximized and effective experiences of the shop and products. The most challenging aspect is recently where I am working for less than half of my usual salary. Meanwhile I have a family to fed and I am frustrated because I feel as though the company doesn't put its employees needs first. I basically work to just come to work not for a living.

Excellent learning curve
My time at the body shop was amazing. I gained a lot of experience. I learnt how to merchandise, handle the till and i also learnt how to communicate effectively with customers. I had to be flexible, friendly , team player .

Great opportunity for improving sales skills
The Body is an extreme and international company. Each day is challenging as we Sales advisors have to ensure we reach sales budget for particular day. Together as co-workers we work well to keep customers impressed with our service and to keep a good realtionship with our loyal customers. Throughout my journey i have learnt how to deal with different customers, and also how to deal with conflict within my work. The thing i enjoy the most is ensuring customer gets the product they want and that they're satisfied with my customer service. And interacting with them. The most challenging aspects is dealing with rude customer And improving our sales at the end of the week ,if we couldn't reach any in between the week.

The team members are nice, but the managers and executives are a whole different story
It was nice cause you learnt to deal with different people on different levels of life and economy. Having to go to training it was also a good part on the company. Executives breathing down our necks on why we not making customers buy products that the very same customers complain about. You were forever reminded that you are disposable. Managers handled issues differently as they have friends in the store so if you not friends you got to suffer. t people on different life stages

Good in customer service
I kefiloe Mashishi I very good in customer service,team player,fast leaner and a very good leader when comes my staff I am person who really loves her job and very honest to my job aswell , I am always on time and very good in reaching deadlines working under pressure I can handle that because my work is my first priority. Sales driven
I have being delegent consistent from A 2mil store I brought it to a 6mil in 7 and a half years individual targets for staff incentivise drive sale stockloss always 0.02per excellent results mystery shop excellent
