A good learning curve
A typical work day starts off with making my Line manager coffee/tea. Thereafter he gives me a list of tasks he wants me to carry out or follow up on before or after my duties, depending on their urgency. I respect my co-workers and they respect me although I am an EPWP Student. I have learnt how to multitask in a working environment, how to organise myself in order to get everything done and how to respond to customers even if they are shouting at me. I have also learnt about the Water By Law which I did not know existed as I am only aware of the Water Acts. What I enjoy the most is putting a smile to customers face. I interact with customers over the and via email on a daily basis and it is rewarding to make customers happy and smile by providing them with the best assistance I can. The most challenging aspects is dealing with angry customers.
Pros: A good learning experience.
Cons: No paid leave. You cannot grow in the department as EPWP workers are contracted for a specific time period.

Organisational Management Administrator/Clerk
A typical working day would be attending to queries via email, creating positions when approved via our Position management system. Changing employees Reporting lines, this affects their leave application. providing support to the line departments HR, administrative work. Myself and colleagues have a very open and close professional relationship, we work as a team as we are only 4 that service the entire city of cape town staff. I have learned so much in my time at the COCT, I have development so much. I am great full for the opportunity as it enhanced my knowledge of Human Resources. I enjoy the fast pace environment and the rush at times as I tend to work well under pressure. The most challenging aspect is working with colleagues that is constantly negative, also the fact that there is little to no growth within my department. it is always important to reward and recognize employees that go the extra mile.

Dynamic and vibrant working environment with a multicultural staff complement. The learning potential for any employee is exceptionally high with the multitude of courses and trainings on offer.

Awesome policies and procedures
They offer great job security and lots of things to lean everything is governed by Policies and procedures... giving a defined guideline of what you should do. There learning interventions are exceptional and they offer financial aid to further your self growth educationally.

Excellent learning curve
ala tpical work day is were I enjoy the interaction with people that I'm surrounded by and being able to give an helpful hand in anything that they require cause I love getting to know new people and working together as a team. The most challenging for me was so far is dealing daily with pdiffurent types of people that have all different personalities and being able to always meet them half way to assist the members of the public.
