An eye opener experience

Liasing with both internal and external clients.Co-ordinating call-outs and delivery of goods ( chemicals,suppliers,raw material.Acting as a Supervisor in his absence.Coaching Junior Operators.Troubleshooting and Optimising the plant processes to ensure Class A product.I have learned to work under pressure,working within a team and independently,problem solving and decision making,interpersonal skills through interaction with internal and external clients,Time management and attention to detail whilst working at the Furnaces.I have enjoyed the opportunity to meet and worked with brilliant mentors who were not only informed but also hand on during normal operation and downtime days.I have also worked with people who used power to do things unlike using values and ethics which was a challenge in getting the desired quality in some instances,but overall it was an eye opening experience.

Pros: High salary packages
Cons: No holidays

I learned health and safety of working inviroment and condition

I am qualified mechanical fitter with section 26 D and i did work in differnt big company to obtained my skill. I very open person where i like to learn from other and it gives me strength of teamwork. Tau Globa and project pty ltd hired me as suprvesor for 10 team doing plant maintanance under Samancor Tubatse ferrouchrome & Dilokong ferrouchrome smilter and lion Glencor ferrochrome. KBM engineering pty ldt hired me welder wheer ai spend 2 working as welder at Mogalakwena Platinum Mine doing Plant Mainatainance

Cons: i remember working double shift becuase we need to meet client demands

I have worked in. Different environment such as the ICT ,Water Treatment and also Furnaces,which is a clear indication that I can adapt to any working environment.I have learned interpersonal,Time management,troubleshooting, decision making,working under pressure,customer relation,report writing ,teamwork whilst working at Vox Telecom since we were working with different clients with different needs,and to make each client happy we had to be a great team which assist each other to achieve a common goal,which is to make client happy,whilst providing quality services that outshine our competitors.

Pros: It's flexible hours ,sometimes you knock off early and sometimes it's long hours which equates to overtime which is more money at the end of the month
Cons: You come across a different situation everyday

Learning curve

It used to be one of the best companies to work for. Team player,though i prefer to work individually. Hard worker,and fast/average learner. I've learned the art of producing electricity using off~gases(heat recovery steam generator)

My duties on a typical work day is to make sure the Water Treated or produced is within specification required by the Government laws,is at the right quality to be reused at the Furnaces (for shell cooling) and also at the Power Generation plant to generate Electricity.I have learned the importance of Quality in general,safety in our operation for both Employees of Samancor and their suppliers,the importance of meeting customer needs and satisfaction.What I enjoyed most is how Employers valued their employees input by creating quarterly roadshow about the progress and plans of the company.The most challenging aspect of the job is making sure you produce the right quality product for the customer despite changing operational conditions
