Dear Sir/Madam Currently, I am employed as an ICT: Senior Manager/ CIO (Employee Number: 0287) and recently working on completing a Bcom (Informatics) honours level with University of Pretoria. My believe is that this position will provide the challenge and in-depth experience required, to enhance skills acquired over time. My wish is to work for a diverse and cutting edge company that is dedicated to both its customers and employees. I have learnt a lot,Got the experience I needed

Working at Umalusi have been an incredible experience. The typical work day at Umalusi ,First thing first in the morning is to make sure all the servers are running ,Check for any open calls and attend to those calls .I work very well with my co -workers and I have learnt how to handle difficult users.I have learnt a lot since I came to Umalusi,All the things I wanted to learn I was taught .What I enjoy most is to attend challenging calls because that way I have to learn new things.The most challenging aspects about this job is that every person have different personalities ,So you have to know how to handle those people

Challenging daily

Good place to work with people of all races who come to one organisation with something in common. Typical day at work is busy and hectic no time to think of any other issues personally. Sometimes you miss your lunch while you busy.

We do is quality work

Working at Umalusi is a privilege, I have learned so much in Financial sector, I have learned that everything I do is not discrediting Umalusi, I have learned that everything I do it must be in good quality, like the job I do, communication with clients and also certifying our clients. Umalusi is having a friendly staff, is like we are from the same family, the Love that Umalusi'staff is having is overwhelming. the most challenging aspect is when I have to face with a difficult client but thanks to my organization who taught me how to have a listening skills and being patient.

Great learning curve

a typical work day entails receiving a lot of urgent statistical queries that support research. we have a healthy working relationship with co-workers. I have learned software skills and research skills. I enjoy working with massive data. the challenging aspects are the incompleteness of dataset which enrich the research outcomes

Career growth, Opportunity to learn and also come out of my comfort zone

Typical work day- first thing in the morning, I go through my work emails. Relationship with co-workers- I'm friendly, easy to get along with, good team player What you have learnt- To grow a thick skin, not be bias or take sides and be honest at all times. What you enjoy most- To work with people of different cultures but always finding a way to overcome the barriers. The most challenging aspects of the job- Its deadline driven, one has to have a good eye for details and be a good listener as well.

Excellent experience

Working normal hours, place where everyone is welcoming and the CEO is hands on able to communicate to everyone. Good working place. I would like to see my self work for a long term in this company.

HR Practitioner

Going through the emails and the organizational global calendar first thing in the morning to check if there's anything scheduled for that day. I'm a good team player what have I learnt is never to take sides, always pay attention to detail and practice confidentiality. what do I enjoy most is recruitment and selection, administration of staff benefits and serving on the EE committee. Challenges are reporting lines in my department are not accurate and as a result there is a communication break down.

Pros: Opportunity to learn, working in a team, fast paced environment.
Cons: No opportunities for growth.

Excellent learning curve

I have 12 years experience from Umalusi. I started at the reception, then doing travelling arrangements and payments for all the travelling booking. Any queries regarding travelling will come through to me. I have gained a lot of experience since I came to Umalusi. I receive invoices daily regarding travelling then I process them, then when I receive a statement at the end of the month I do my reconciliation then I do a request for payment. Then i am done with my payments I also update tarrifs, honorarium and allowances on MIS system
