Unique Hydra Reviews

A typical work day for me is: When I arrive at company, I first go and check all my jobs on the floor and check what will be required for work staff to go through the day smoothly without any hold ups. I check all new production jobs on my name and start doing the paperwork for them. Do some investigation on how job will be manufactured and create operation instruction and inspection reports for jobs. I also ensure quality is up to standard for all jobs and inspections are done to operation instruction I created. I have a very good relationship with all my co-workers. especially all the engineers and staff on workshop floor. I learn every day something new like: how to run a production job more efficient or how a new component work etc. There is every day something to learn you must just be open to learn something new. I learnt a lot and I enjoy to work with the people I do. every day is a challenge, but it is an great feeling to overcome all challenges and to see the final result.

Pros: Experiece in field and people I work with
Cons: sallary

Please stay away If you want to progress in your career

This company is in a niche market. They design and manufacture commercial diving equipment for the Oil & Gas industry. From the outside this looks like any job seeker's dream but that fantasy is soon shattered when you realise that 90% of the work force is paid well below market and the work environment is not great. The company has a high staff turnover. Highest I have ever encountered.

Pros: Great experience, exciting projects
Cons: Weak managment, very poor pay

Typical day consists of running production jobs from start to finish. Liase with other departments to meet customer demands and needs. Ensure products comply with IMCA diving guidelines. Additional requirements may be to comply with ABS and DNV regulations.

Pros: Good Learning experience
Cons: Unrealistic deadlines for projects.

It was awesome working there we were a family it was awesome waking up knowing that there was always something to keep us vibrant. from walking in to spending time together and every target was set early morning the addreniline of meeting the target and getting it right first time was a thrive i could live for learning everyday and perfecting it day by day. My role was to make sure that our design department drawings was linked and made accessable to all departments involved in the manufacturing .distributing drawings to our engineers for submission and doing document transmittals I was also the first point of contact for the department all documents was scanned renamed and linked by me and you needed to stay focused and positive and thats what i lived for.

From leadership to dictatorship.

The company has changed from a locally owned "family" culture to an international corporate company without direction or values. All that counts is the next project at all cost. Where everybody pulled together out of sense of loyalty and respect for each other now its a case of work ridiculous hours, score points by pointing finger at fellow employees under the guise of KPI tracking or get out. The new management doesn't seem to know the difference between leadership and dictatorship.

Pros: International Engineering Exposure
Cons: Highly unpredictable market / Workload
