University of Johannesburg Reviews

Excellent learning curve

Working in the university of Johannesburg has been rather challenging but the experience gained is second to non. Studying while working has helped me learn how to cope with massive work loads and work well under pressure and also work well with others. It has boosted my self confidence and helping students further understand their module has brought me greater joy.

Pros: Teamwork
Cons: Workload

I am a qualified CNC toolmaker with Mecad and Mastercam programming experience

I loved my job but was retrenched after 11 years due to the contract withdrawal of Spoornet. I used to train the apprentices and did all the ordering of different materials and also delivered tools to be heat treated. I have learnt a great amount from Pandrol SA but am still willing to learn more in my life.

Pros: it was an excellent company to work for and i gained very valuable training
Cons: the withdrawal of all our contracts

I am the heart and the mainstay of the law clinic

my daily duties involve, lots of typing, attending to reception and all other areas, supervising the assistants, customer care eg. attending to queries telephonically and personally, administrative duties. My relationship with my co-workers is excellent, good team spirit is what we have. I have learnt to work unsupervised, working in a team, accepts criticism and to be open for ideas shared between me and my co-workers, more helpful to those who need my help. I enjoy helping those I need of help (any) The most challenging is when you have to refer a person to some other departments for help, seeing that the person wants us to offer that help even if the matter does not fall under our jurisdiction, but it is manageable.

Pros: I am working so hard to be recoginsed at the best employee as well to get a senior position should an apportunity arise
Cons: I am flexible person, can work as long as it is required of me

Great learning curve

Being an administrative assistant, your job is to assist administratives, whatever those are. And to much of the world, your job sounds like an easy one. The most challenging part of the job is that You Always Have To Be Happy People Think Your Job Is Easy. What I have learned is that an administrative assistant is the one who keeps the office running efficiently. The skilled administrators continuously look for new ways to lend support, or make improvements to benefit the company. The administrators aren't just supporting players they add value in a way that makes them critical to an organization's success.

Pros: Opportunities to grow
Cons: Comfort Zone
