Exellent opportunity

The most challenging aspect of the job. In peak season the park is very busy most of the Revenues is generated during that time. I am accurate though in my work need to check and verify all documentation sent to me. All revenues needs to be rung on the system, check tenders are sign by relevant personnel, verify cash that it correspond to cash office count. If there are any shortages notify managers or send e-mails of any queries that need to be resolved.

Pros: Career development
Cons: limited time

Good expirience,excellent learning curve,great exposure

At Ushaka Marine World i have gained a lot of expirience because i was working rotational .I have start working with fitters for four months ,HVAC for three months,Project planning with a manager for three months and working in stores for 2 months. Working at ushaka gave me a excellent learning curve, good communication skills, gtood problem solving skills and the good relationship with workers because we were doing interesting jobs each and every day.i have also learnt that to gain more you must ask question and you must trust your self. the most challenging jobs was that for projects but it was interesting ,some times u find that you need to make research for what your are doing and make some calculations and also drafting the report of which is more challenging.

Pros: Great opportunity promotion
Cons: short breaks and lunchs, long working hours

Learning curve

Its a great opportunity because you meet different people everyday and you learn you things from them. I love being around sea animals and that alone teach us more about caring for them and littering. I enjoy being closer to people from different countries because that shows excellence in our service. I enjoy doing group tours with my guest and i enjoyed the trainings that the company offered to us. The most challenging aspects is the guest complaints, sometimes they complaint about company rules something that you cannot change it overnight.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn and grow
Cons: Working outside

The company is a government owned entity, much like SABC, Eskom.

I manage the Entertainment and events of the entire park with 11 staff reporting to me. My days are spent planning (strategizing) on ways to increase park footfall, by identifying new event opportunities etc. I have leant that working in this environment is sometime very limiting creatively, as there is a lot of red tape that prevents the actual work being done. I love what I do, and enjoy it but as I said, the most challenging aspect is the red tape

Pros: Have an oppoortunity to work with a great team
Cons: Red tape
