Excellent learning curve and great team.

Excellent learning curve and great colleagues, but the company's systems in terms of HR are lacking. No benefits available and compensation for expenses incurred during/due to work is not available either. A typical work day consists of monitoring the network and responding to all faults. Very straight forward and few challenges. The team is great to work with and everyone is professional.

Pros: Great learning environment
Cons: No set policies for compensation. No company benefits. Little opportunity for promotion.

Good learning

I am currently working at Dark Fibre Africa as an Intern which is a good company. I work 8 hours a day and it is exhausting but worth it, I work with a team of people were there is a everyday collaboration which is what I love in a working place. I have learned to maintain a good and a healthy relationship with my colleagues and respect and good communication is a key in the workplace. I enjoy the type of work I do at DFA, when you do something that you love u put more effort and confidence will always be there. My relationship with the my co-workers is excellent we communicate very well wr assist each other where needed.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

Keeping track history of communication is critical.

Being out of office on site posed a lot of admin difficulty as a safety manager. Company was unwilling to provide junior staff. I had a great team of guys who were willing to be flexible to cover short fall in personnel. Office environment was friendly and close knit. Work load was emmence and thus compromised quality at times.

Pros: Everyday was different
Cons: At times health and safety isnt given the priority it needs in company finances.

It’s been a great opportunity for growth.

Xuma Technologies has contributed positively to both my personal development and career growth. Working for Xuma has been one of the best opportunities and I will always be grateful, the exposure and the learning that I went through was not just beneficial but it was also necessary. The dynamics of working for a small company in terms of size gave me the opportunity to have vast knowledge in everything in my department and the responsibility of being accountable for everything in HR. At any given point I’ve been able to align to the business needs of the organization, as part of the executive team. I learned from everyone and eventually developed an interest in Employee Wellness as a crucial component in HR and for this I am thankful.
