Zara Reviews

HR manager, Zara, Inditex

I am passionate! Passionate about people. Passionate about training and development. Passionate about fairness and consistency. Passionate about making profit. My passion springs from my history. I started my career working in Retail stores and during this time I learnt a very important lesson – any business is only as good as the team working for it. The better the team was trained, the better they performed. The better motivated the team, the better the results. The more fairly and consistently people were treated, the more loyalty and commitment was gained from the team members. My extensive background as a senior retail store manager, coupled with my 10 years senior HR management experience and my Diplomas in Commercial law and Human Resources management, has allowed me to assist in driving organizational growth through the effective use of the people working in the company.

Pros: The people
Cons: Long working hours

Learning New Skils

There was a customer who was looking for an outfit but ended up buying more because of my assistance..She always ask for my help ever since that day.We not all ,he same right but we always manage to do our best when we are working.I have learnt thatyou can not bring issues like say that cetain dau your stressedd, now that could be bad so you and your coo- worker to a bad day ony because your not working as a team.I good day where we make sales and working together as a team. When as co-workers you dont work as a team, obviously you not going to make sale for the day and it becomes a bad for all of us.

Pros: Growth
Cons: 12hr

Excellent learning curve

I have had the opportunity to work in the retail field for the past 4 years. While working in this field I was fortunate to enhance my communication skills as well as my public relations skill, as I was responsible for working with incoming customers during major holiday sales as well as handling the cash register and cash counts at the end of the evening and assuring that count was correct. My skills include but not limited to, stoking the inventory, working with unruly customers and receiving shipment of merchadise. I am always willing to learn any necessary skills that will be needed in order to have a long and successful career. I believe that my willingness to learn & achieve was enhanced by working in such a big company for so long. I dont drink but im very open which allows me to interact easy with customers.

Pros: Get to challenge yourself and meet new people
Cons: Long working hours

Excellent learning curve

Typical work day would include having to meet customer expectations as well working well under pressure. My relationship with co-workers is very satisfactory as i gel well with everyone and i am a team player. What i enjoy most is seeing a customer be very pleased and happy with the service they received from me but as well as meeting targets set by the store. I have learnt to be able to deal with conflict within the workplace,be a valuable member within the company, taking on new responsibilities, leadership skills, making use of technological advances. working with people, dealing with different personalities, being more savvy and fashion forward. Management not being able to be the voice of reason on a number of cases, unhappy customers, morale of the team

Pros: Flexibility
Cons: Fatigue

Excellent learning curve

Working at Zara retail store has taught me a lot regarding the fashion world. I have to keep up with the latest trends such as trending colours, pants, shirts or t-shirts, shoes, bags etc. The pace at Zara retail store is very fast, staff don't drag their feets during work. Customer service is the main priority, ensuring that you are able to assist a customer and satisfy their requirements and even offering alternatives or add ons to their outfits. Time management is essential at Zara, one must make sure that their productivity withing the hours of work are noticed by management. Getting the products (clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, etc) from the stockroom and coordinating them on the shop floor according to their colours and trends.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours and flexible (must be available anytime for work)

Good start up environment

maintaing the floor and helping customers.I've learned to be patient and work at a fast pace and also how to work in a team.the management was fair and treated the staff equally.the workplace culture would be to sell as many items as you can and always keep customers happy.the hardest part of the job would be dealing with a customer thats throwing tantrums and not understanding and the most enjoyable part would be interacting with customers and building a professional relationship with them and seeing them leave the store happy.

Pros: Commission, good for improving stamina
Cons: No leave days December,
