Knowing line managers duties.

A good place to work start a career. It builds up a character because we work with different people form different backgrounds, culture, age, gender etc. As I have worked for ABSA for the passed ten years there are more relationships I have with clients. It is more challenging as I am supposed to be alert at all times, to avoid shortages, surpluses, Fraud against staff & clients. Accuracy, Integrity, Accountability, Stewardship, Excellence are part of the values that I must have. Its always difficult as we serve more than 200 clients a day with different attitudes. As some may complain that the queue is not moving. But in all that you are suppose to satisfy them and apologize. I have a good relationship with my co-workers as I`m always humble whether they are at fault or not. What I enjoy most is when even when I`m on annual leave or on lunch customers will always want me back at work. I have learnt to be humbled and to respect others.

Pros: Depends on you rating.
Cons: On paydays

Excellent learning curve

I am a well-motivated and energetic individual who possesses good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively on all levels within an organization. Can participate effectively into teamwork and use my own initiative when required. I am also a flexible individual who enjoys the challenges of meeting deadlines and targets. An inspired individual who is well focus, determined and believes in hard work. A fresh young mind ready to absorb effective learning and to be taught.

Pros: great opportunity
Cons: working on holidays

Absa bank

Absa is a seriously great place to work. Remediation team are really close and tight-knit and there's very little friction across functional units. Management takes a very dedicated - yet weighted and scientific - approach to employee feedback and really listens to everyone at every level. The degree of ownership and impact you'd like within your product team is very flexible so everyone can easily find his or her comfort zone. There's an open culture that strongly discourages immature, ignorant, intolerant, hateful, or negative attitudes. The food at HQ is amazing, and the work groups and events allow you to meet a ton of people. Desk space is ample and collaborative while allowing for flexible environments (go work at a couch, a conference room, or the kitchen if you want.) Hours are flexible as long as you're around for meetings.

Pros: growth
Cons: long working hours

Learning curve but not different from audit

The experience at the bank is amazing and a great learning opportunities but the financial control post is not that different from audit which is a field i have experience on so the challenge is not that new. I going forward even through the bank I would like something that allows for less audit like type of work.daz

Pros: Great way to get better opportunities in the future
Cons: Not too different from audit
