Fast paste environment with a lot of pressure.
Great relationship with co-workers and constantly learning from everyone I interact with. Minimum opportunity for growth/promotions however there is opportunity to learn new skills that can be used when moving to a different organization.

Experience and learning curve
I am Abongile Chitwa employed by Absa as the Teller. My responsibilities cover accepting and issuing money to customers as well as selling Absa Products like Funeral Benefits, etc. Before joining the present employer I was employed by the BAT as the Cashier, responsible for counting huge sums of money from the Reps. On my educational background, I passed Grade 12 at Pretoria Institute of Learning. In my career, I have learned to comply with the rules and regulations, policies and procedures, and the code of conduct of the employer when performing my duties. Was able to gain experience from tactical to strategic
Absa has been a great platform for me to diversify my skills. As Lead Business analyst I was involved in several projects and mainly regulatory which I did not have exposure to before. Unfortunately growth opportunities at absa are very limited now. I enjoyed the autonomy I was given however and was enabled and supported by senior leadership which motivated excellence (I received an Excellence award in 2017).
Pros: Being promoted to Business Architect
Cons: Leadership changed and so did the culture

Excellent learning curve
Absa has allowed me to grow within their range of services. Over the four (4) years that I have been with Absa head office, I have reached potentials that I myself knew i had but was to afraid to reach. I have grown so much within the company, and have learned so much and achieved so much. I believe that I can take on the world. I know that I am capable of doing any job, and performing any function to the best of my ability.

Great for one that is starting up in IT
Good place to learn and especially for interns in IT, but there is less growth and promotions opportunities, also the environment can be sometimes challenging
