Learning curve that has boosted my confidence.

I have learnt a lot because I hold two portfolios . I am an admin officer as well as an online program facilitator. I had to intiate the online program with the learners , it was challenging but I rose above it and I feel that the experience has given my self confidence a boost. The only downside is that I am employed by the SGB and my job is not stable because of this. If the school needs to cut down on costs, they start getting rid of SGB employed staff.

Pros: Being an online facilitator is a rewarding job , as well as being in the admin department, ensuring the smooth running of the organization.
Cons: Not knowing where I stand in terms of becoming permanently employed

Manaegment

I learn to work on their Schools Management and administration application. i work well with others as i help teachers daily, by printing all kinds of question papers, typing different kinds of documents. how to properly plan and implement Reward Ceremonies, File all kinds of documentation, scan, fax and email learner progress reports. answer all incoming and outgoing calls in a curteous manner. be punctual everyday, communicate effectively to increase production. etc

Cons: public holidays, saturdays and sundays

Latest Technology is Priority

Good learning experience. New Library office system just installed. Training received on this system. Up to date technology exists in terms of smart board and projectors in each classroom. Not much scope in terms of salary improvement or promotion. SGB staff are not the same as GDE staff in the way we are treated. Some schools pay SGB staff better salaries. Staff need to be given set portfolios for smooth running of the school. Better communication must be established among staff members and managers.

Cons: Low salary
