I am a motivated individual who understands the importance of upholding a brand and strive hard to work towards it. As required, I am proficient in providing efficient guest services and ensuring that all special requests are handled well. Moreover, I have a demonstrated ability to train staff in order to enable them to deliver the type of services that is expected. Since I started my career at the front desk, I understand the importance of ensuring that personnel development and growth is taken into account. My understanding of the importance of teamwork necessitates that all work performed at the front desk level is done with harmony and any discord is resolved immediately.

Most challenging time of my career

It is an honour and a privilege to be associated with a stellar establishment such as the Cape Grace Hotel. A hotel which feels like home. Both from a guest perspective as well as a staff perspective. The Cape Grace Hotel is what it is because of the type of people it employes. Humble, respectiful, empathetic, honorary and trustworthy. All the ingredients needed to make up a successful business.

Pros: The company always puts their staff first.
Cons: The bigger the company the bigger the team.which can cause a pattern of absenteeism and as a result cause strain on other employees

Excellent learning curve and some personal development

It's definitely a learning curve considering that it's my first HR job, I've developed however unless someone else leaves I don't know if I'd be promoted. The people I work with are amazing

Good command of English, Microsoft Office Skills, and Professional Cookery Skills

Analytical, observat, good command of English, creative, logical, persuasive, planner, sometimes good with budget planning, a people's person. I ask when I don't fully understand something. Am always more than willing to grow and satisfy the company needs, I try by all means to put myself in someone else's shoes and understand their needs. Am very friendly. I am a bit of an introvert but still have an effective communication skills. I am ambitious, dedicated and obsessed to work on myself.

Great starting point.

The job is amazing. You work with a diverse team of people who bring their unique characteristics to the table. In the morning it's mostly setting up for the day ahead so I would be checking in on stock ordered, if any additional stock is required, ensuring the restaurant is set up for the day ahead. Double check the functions for the day and see to them accordingly. Do a team training an hour before service starts, about our beverage offerings and food as well. Set up for whisky tasting and host them as well. And generally be on the floor and check on all guests with compliments or complaints and deal with them accordingly.

Pros: Excellent growth opportunities
Cons: Stay for too long and one becomes complacent.
