I have been employed in the Municipality for almost 8 years but i am still stuck at the same job.
I have no job description I am doing most of my supervisor's work. I am doing clearances of debts, enquiries of accounts, opening and closing accounts, check reading of meters which entails me going out of office, I transfer services to new accounts with the apportioned debt with that. Workers do not have a good working relationship. others are climbing the ladder while others are being left at the same position for years without any recognition. Some of the workers go behind other workers back s and deliberately spread false rumours to seniors as to gain favours and privileges. I have learnt to be independent, hard working and to deliver my work no matter the situation.I have enjoyed dealing with different people and growing as a person and being stronger and be able to take criticism.The most challenging is doing my seniors work for them while they get a higher salary than me. it is frustrating to teach your senior how they should be doing their duty.

Service Delivery
All Office Administration duties With motivating and working as teams in a mutual understanding by meeting each other half way to reach common grounds I have learnt Legislation governing the municipality, observing lines of communication I enjoy interacting with various stakeholders on campaigns and also working with the community on projects. i am challanged when it comes to political views to meet community needs versus practicality

Good commuincaton skills, Good Customer Service, aswell as Telephone skills.
It was a great experience in working at Chris Hani District Municipality and I acquired more skills at their call centre as we were queries across the district. On a daily basis we received incident from our communities regarding drains, burst pipe.

Excellent learning curve
I'"m the go to person, reliable, accurate and pay attention to detail. Not only am I the Data Capturer but also responsible for administration, receiving payments and also handle enquirers. I have learnt a lot from my supervisor who gave me the training at the post Im in now at the moment. She taught me all the work and also taught me here work and I also stand in for here when she is on leave. I enjoy the challenges that come with the post as I deal with people on a daily bases. People are different and you get to learn how to handle everyone and treat each client as if they the most important, and they are. The most challenging will be the system going offline, when its the busiest times of the month.

Excellent Learning Curve
I am goal driven individual always deliver into expectations. I can work under pressure. I have good interpersonal skills, knows how to run sites and set up teams. computer literacy. I can work in most design software.

My job and experience
My day to day job is to ensure that GIS jobs are done and the set targets are met. Meeting with the team and assign the jobs, assist where it is necessary. Write reports and reports as per SDBIP target. Ensure that everything is working such as connections to the Server and etc. What i enjoy the most is interacting with co-workers and sharing the ideas of how best the problem should be solved.The most challenging aspect of my job is when the network is down and need to update some data on the SDE Server or need to retrieve data from it
Pros: Chris Hani District municipality is the place one can learn a lot
Cons: Usually its 8-4:30 working environment but not limited to that

Excellent learning curve
Working directory with communities from rural areas made me realize that its not easy for people from those areas to get information so as communication officers we need to go all out to make sure that your clients or customers gets all the information they need without hustle. it is our duty to make sure that we create relevant platforms for our clients to get all the necessary information they might need without hustling.
