OVERVIEW OF THE PAST 10 YEARS

In my career I have gained experience in the entire supply chain from procurement to manufacturing to logistics. Coupled to this my formal education has skilled me in the financial aspects of a business so that I can manage the entire operations effective to stakeholders expectations. Over the past 10 years at Dawn, I have had exposure to all facets of the business. Starting With a pure warehousing operation, later the distribution operations and finally the procurement and supply chain planning was added to my responsibilities. In July 2014 I was appointed a member of Dawn’s executive Committee as the CEO of Dawn Logistics. The past three years were the most turbulent in the company’s history. Dawn has undergone re-structuring of the business, closing down 4 distribution centres. The same customer base will now be serviced from the remaining four distribution centres. Over the years Dawn has used my skills with businesses that are not managed optimally, to identify and resolve problem areas.

Pros: Dawn is an entrepreneurial company where business leaders are given the scope to manage the operation with a high level of autonomy. The business environment is constantly changing
Cons: Over the last three years there was a lot of uncertainty due the the performance of various businesses in the group. large scale re-structuring resulting in good staff leaving the group.
