Great exposure
Theres a great balance between pracricial work exposure in the field and office paper work. Im working as an Environmental Health intern and carry out duties such as collecting water samples for analysis, waste management activities, and regular inspections at food premises... to name a few... in my office we are around 50 stafff... forming part of the BCMM staff... and we all work well together.. i particularly enjoy environmental health waste management at tbe landfill sites.. which we monitor reguarly... and as much as it is a challenge, i enjoy being involved in something that saves or changes our environment for the good.
Pros: Great work exposure
Cons: Highly challenging work load in December

Excellent learning curve
Working at the clinic is quite interesting because on daily basis you come across new things and you must always do things in line with the latest guidelines. My relationship with the co-workers is perfect and we have the spirit of team work. I have learned a lot ever since I arrived at the institution, and of those include administration, financial management, problem solving skills and communication skills. I enjoyed the administration part the most. The most challenging part of the job is when a co-worker decides not to keep him/ herself abreast with information which then at the end of the day drops our performance as the facility.
Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

Management must run things properly and in a good way so that the staff can be motivated.
working at the gauteng health has gained me a lot of experience, learning to work on a persal system was such a good experience, though there is a lot of work, i have learned to work under pressure, individually and also as a team, i always have a way of how to target my daily tasks, i always priorities my work, i also have a good work relationship with my colleagues and my managers. the most thing that challenges me is when i failed to assist where i cant even though i have tried so hard, the most challenging aspects of the job is when we lack the resources, and also when there are no chances to develop the staff and the opportunity to strengthen them. i would also like to learn more about Human resource new system and functions at the different company and the new environment.
Pros: where there's a great opportunity for promotions, staff members get motivated and eager to learn more and to work hard.
Cons: even though the company operates for long hours, we need to love our job so that we can be able to enjoy it and do it with love. love

I used to assist my team during rotations and teach in-service training staff.
The exciting part is i did the hardest file in the department most failed to do as an in-service traner andand that when my supervisor seen something in me.
Pros: I never allow any of them because i needed to know more about work before i can deal with the staff
Cons: I love to work extra hours because it gives me time to resolve the issues without being disturbed

Excellent learning curve
At health department i work 8 hours Monday to Friday My relationship with co-workers it is of the brotherly and sisterly one because i interact with each and every units in the department. i have learn to accept the fact that we are diverse, culturally, learn from one another and acknowledge others opinions. As a monitoring and evaluation, my job is very flexible because i get to learn so many different units such as clinical, finance, supply chain, human resource and transport. The challenging part about my work is that you need all the time be on board, be on top of things , attention to detail, confidential and be able to work under pressure and prepared to work long hours.
Pros: Exposed to opportunity in both private and government sectors
Cons: long working hours, attention to details and Confidentiality.

Good learning experience
It was a good learning experience with high pressure intensity. You learn a lot from different health professionals and patients who present in the hospital setting. You get an opportunity to expose your to different medical and psychiatric illness that you wouldn’t normal encounter in organizational settings. The salary is really good and comes with just as much work.
Pros: Vast experience in the hospital setting
Cons: Busy and high pressure
