Department of Health Reviews

Hard working person

Actually in Department of Health I've been busy doing Inservice- training and now I'm done with it, so I'm not working at the moment but I'm looking for a job as to why I'm applying in this post as I see myself fit in it. In my workplace I used to make calls to different Hospitals everyday, receive and send emails, write reports, do research, visit institutions when necessary, attend meetings, report to my manager. I gained a lot of experience as I worked with different Managers who handle issues differently but at the end I knew I have to be patient so that I'll enjoy my work and get it done.

Pros: Was doing inservice training but I'm sure if they need to hire more staff I'll be the one to be hired
Cons: Just normal working hours from 7:30- 14-00

EXCELLENT LEARNER

I ENJOY WORKING THE WHOLE DAY, I AM FRIENDLY TO MY CO-WORKERS AND THEY ALSO LOVE TO HAVE ME AROUND AS I AM A HARD WORKER AND I HAVE LEARNED A LOT SINCE A STARTED WORKING AT HEALTH. I LEARNED THAT RESPECT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING AT WORKPLACE WHEREVER THE PERSON IS OLDER TO YOU OR BY POSITION DOESN'T MEAN WE SHOULD DISRESPECT THE PERSON, THE MOST THAT I ENJOY IS TO WORK AND NOT ALWAYS BEING SERIOUS AND TO LOUGH,SMILE . I NEVER CAME ACROSS TO SOME CHALLENGES BECOUSE I DO MY WORK PERFECTLY.

Pros: GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR PROMOTION
Cons: OVERTIME WORKING AFTER WORK

MY EXPERIENCE IN PROCUREMENT

I gained my experience of Procurement in a medical institution, having Doctors and nurses depending on you in order to perform their jobs, that not only challenged me but all groomed me to a much more better experienced buyer. Each and every week receiving about 30 requests per person, it felt like we're being thrown into the deep end. I actually thank the team that we work as, without the ones it wouldn't have been easy. I can vouch that from now I am ready to move a step forward.

Pros: GAIN OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE
Cons: WORK AFTER HOURS

Excellent learning curve

Western Cape College of Nursing Core objective of the company is the Training of Nursing Professionals in order to meet the qualifications in accordance with the South Africa Nursing Council. A typical day is the interaction between clerks and students and the liaising of academic staff to assist the students with admin and academic issues. I've gained a lot of experience in general administrative tasks, and the challenges are what makes the job very enticing. I work very well with very closely with all the role players and we work together in a team to reach the company's main objective.

Pros: great opportunity for learning
Cons: night shift

Great leraning facility

We work an average of 40hours per week and the most challenging part is shortage of staff. There is excellent team work and I was assigned as learder and supervisor of the team of new employed staff like community service nurses and students. I have learnt to be more responsible and gained more experience in problem solving and managing complications of conditions that rose in the facility. I enjoyed working around patients , being with my patients and making sure their needs are met.

Pros: There study leaves for improvement
Cons: Shortage of staff, unpaid overtime..long working hours most times we dont get to eat lunch.

Excellent learning curve

Working at the clinic is quite interesting because on daily basis you come across new things and you must always do things in line with the latest guidelines. My relationship with the co-workers is perfect and we have the spirit of team work. I have learned a lot ever since I arrived at the institution, and of those include administration, financial management, problem solving skills and communication skills. I enjoyed the administration part the most. The most challenging part of the job is when a co-worker decides not to keep him/ herself abreast with information which then at the end of the day drops our performance as the facility.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Long working hours

Platform for development and gaining knowledge

I provide pharmaceutical services to 93 clinics in Ekurhuleni District. I have managed to set up systems that allow for creativity and autonomy to all units in the cycle of supply of medicine. I love empowering subordinates and my management team. I enjoy finding new and unique approaches to a problem. I have developed as a manager and teacher. I have mentored students completing Diplomas at University of PTA. I am challenged by the lack of space to grow as an individual.

Pros: Providing quality care to patients
Cons: Lack of career opportunities
