Good learning curve
My day is basically filled with a lot of calls from providers, brokers with regards to chronic, Oncology and HIV queries. On the regular I have to assist providers with lengthy queries, as we have to investigate the situation. My relationship with my co-workers is good as we help each other where we can. Most challenging, is doing additional work, when we are so busy on some days, but we get it done.
Pros: Opportunity for growth
Cons: Stressful environment

Great learning curve
The company is a great way to learn to adapt with work and balance. Its easy to learn people skills and we learn to work together as it is the best way to get confirmation and knowledge.
Pros: Flexible work
Cons: No clear communication

Learning curve
I believe it's the best salary but want a review. 6 days a wedding of work and one day off. Growth is available however going there can be difficult. Great people to work with where fun can be had.
Pros: great working environment
Cons: one day rest

I appreciate that I have moved departments and have learnt a lot in the process.
The environment tends to be a bit gloomy due to being unhappy. I love my company, I love what it stands for and the vision. But the treatment of the people can sometimes be impersonal
Pros: Great learning curve
Cons: Negative people, ridiculous expectations from a few individuals.

Poor management
Lower level staff not recognised and also no medical aid subsidy. Work days are very repetitive and nothing new/exciting ever happens. Staff are mostly 30+ not for the individual that prefers a young/vibey environment. Biggest health insurance company in SA but can't subsidise staff medical aid premium, also compulsory to have medical aid with Discovery. Only growth available for people with Degree's in clinical fields. Not a competitive salary even if in specialized dept.
Pros: Great learning curve
Cons: No medical aid allowance

Excellent fast growing company
I've learned a great deal working for this company. Whilst they give you a lot of support in difficult times, they also are very adamant on ensuring that business continues as usual. Being a nurse for many years, I'm used to working long hours, however, I've never worked such long hours as in the last two years of this company. Whenever there is a Take-on, we work strenuously long hours. We have the wonderful opportunity to work-form-home, however they also expect of you to do more than the guys in the office and work progressively longer hours than the office-based staff. At year-end, you are told that there is no budget for overtime, but you're expected to work after hours and weekends to ensure that all work are done within turn-around time. Team support are great, while Management doesn't always grasp the difficulties we deal with. This company are surely a marker leader, however promotion opportunity is non-existing if you're not a BEE candidate
Pros: World leader in medical aid management and a great source for social good
Cons: Long working hours, no promotion opportunity if you're not a BEE candidate

Service Consultant
I have worked in three different departments in the past nine months. I am always willing and eager to learn new things. I love the people at Discovery, they are friendly and energetic. I currently assist with new applications. I start at 8am and leave at 4:30pm. I will be required to leave later when I start being audited. This is my second week in the new department. Assisting future members that are upset about the application process is the challenging part of my job. Since I am a friendly person, I manage to make them happy while I am assisting them.
Pros: Great opportunity for promotions.
Cons: Long working hours

Good, learning curve
Its a good company to work for with great employees who are dedicated hardworking and responsible. The working environment is good and employees have a good working relationship. The company has taught me that in order to succeed in your role you need to give it your all, take responsibility and be open to learning. My challenge is when there is so much to do with limited resources and not enough headcount.
Pros: Great oportunity to discover your potential
Cons: Manager-Employee relationship
