I've leant a lot

When I came here I was once critised for being too coporate, which I have come to realise. Here I acually do the work for an HR/IR officer and Bookeeper and yet have Fleet manager reporting to myself together with all the office staff. I have a very good working relationship with the staff and the owner of the business and I see myself as the sounding board between the owner and the staff. Some challenges is when I have to convince of the owner to handle things diffrently than he would normally do. I have insourced work that used to be done by accountants such as payrol, vat, paye, uif and sdl.

Pros: Flexibility
Cons: Work load too much

Excellent learning curve

Good structure, excellent opportunity for learning because you get thrown in the deep and you'll learn your way up as you go. I have learnt that you should treat your project as if it's your own project, dont think of it as a company project, that way you will always be curious about the ins and outs of the project.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning, salary gets paid in full on the agreed date,
Cons: Long working hours
