Planning, site investigations and Quality Management in the Plant (Hazardous Environment) in order to compile Basic Design and Engineering Documents for the detailed scope of work and Drawings update during shutdown/ turnaround and normal plant operation for projects or plant change request. Providing Electrical distribution for Automation system in the Refinery control centers and Electrical Protection for Low Voltage switchgears, including cable selection and circuit breaker ratings as per the Refinery specifications Installation, Testing and Troubleshooting of the Electrical systems and commissioning of equipment. Bill of Materials and Engineering file which includes detailed Scope of work and Method statement for every work pack in the project. Earth installation for new equipment to link with the existing faulty earth network on the site. Supervision and Managing of all electrical works including Instruments and Hardware installation.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Normal working hours

Application for position of Electrical engineer

My engineering experience comprises of Power distribution for municipalities and Preventative Maintenance Program implementation, Project management and engineering and design as indicated in my curriculum vitae. I am currently working as an Electrical Engineer for Instroworx (on Sapref site) in a Project (and/ or PCR’s) department conducting planning, engineering and design, supervision commissioning and testing of equipment.

Pros: great petrochemical exposure
Cons: Not many electrical projects
