Great development

You can never fully plan you week as new challenges com that required s me to b flexible. Each member of the team has a role to play with clients and its important to understand your role and how it affects the other team member. Each day I learn new ways in which the systems can help work better understand the clients. I enjoy interaction with the different clients and learning something new each day. Also enjoy learning about the different ways in which industries operate.

Pros: Learn a lot in a short space of time
Cons: Frequent changes, learn new sytems in short spaces

Performing

There are worker bees and there are people who are there to talk and hide behind the worker bees. A lot of legacy employees at senior management who fight for power. They want to remain relevant till they retire. These people are very selfish and are not progressive at all. Us the performers then get demotivated when these dinasours get all the money and bonuses when the actual work has been done by us. We then leave and the bank is left with the legacy employees.

Pros: Flexible working hours
Cons: Only one that works

Excellent opportunity to learn more

My relationship with staff was excellent. Everything about banking, saving, handling money and finances I have learnt at Nedbank. The thing I enjoyed most was interaction with both staff as well as clients. The thing that was challenging was pleasing clients and helping them to the best of my ability but doing it was worth it as I grew in my career from those challenges.

Pros: Lots of growth opportunities
Cons: Not sufficient support for management

A day in the life at Nedbank Group Marketing

- A typical day in Nedbank's Group Marketing Digital team (the team that my function sits within) includes a series of the morning to early afternoon meetings (08:30 - 14:00). - All of my co-workers including myself are new, we are still learning about our roles and responsibilities and how they relate to us as individuals. I have brilliant co-workers though and we all come from different disciplines and industries that can lend itself to the overall brand of the bank. - What I've learned so far in my short while at Nedbank is the absolute importance of communication, resilience, and patience. - I enjoy working within the "green" bank - a bank that advocates sustainability and community building in South Africa. - One major challenge that's been difficult to manage is the lack of support from senior management, severe lack of structure, dysfunctional reigns, severe lack of workplace culture and poor unconstructive communication.

Pros: Great brand
Cons: Lack of leadership, bad culture, personal values do not align with company values
