Transparency
The Nedbank brand is a culture that every staff member is proud of. I have been blessed to have worked alongside among some the best specialists in their fields as well supported dynamic teams. Together Nedbank staff collaborate, all differences are put aside and one in unity our common goals and challenges are reached. I have gained a vast amount of experience and learning aptitude. I have found my strengths lie in supporting people, and administration. The most challenging aspect of the job day to day, would have to be getting the middle man to meet and understand your deadline. I most enjoy the interaction with my fellow co-workers and the feedback I receive from them with regards to their challenges. This allows me to see if their are any flaws in the process and if we should not be using an alternative process / methodology.

Diverse, enables opportunity for growth, depending on where you are within the company.
Working at the company is very dependent on your immediate line manager, and your perceived value. Having worked for various managers, this has been my experience. The culture is currently in a state of flux and it is not clear what the value proposition of the company is. It has moved from being an 'elitist' bank, to one that's more collaborative, and there is a move to find a new culture medium for the company. It has been conservative and highly risk averse. this has led to steady growth, but not exponential.
Pros: collaborative culture in certain areas. Opportunities for diverse growth do exist.
Cons: Perceived value dependent on Manager/head and can undermine employee contribution

Excellent learning curve
I have been involved in Cobol programming for a substantial time now. In my work life, I have worked for various companies, but I find that Nedbank has a good culture with excellent work life balance. I worked here of 7 years then left for FNB and worked there for 3 years. Needless to say, I found the culture strange, as I used to have an excellent work life balance with an opportunity to enhance my skills and learn new things at Nedbank. I therefore went back to Nedbank, and the culture has not changed one bit. I am entrusted with a lot of responsibility and they believe in my ability to be able to deliver on their mandate. I am currently rewriting their Investment system, and am enjoying the challenge daily.

Ever changing environment which creates room for growth
Working is fine but I question management style of motivating staff and recognition is lacking greatly, A typical work day includes : Morning meeting with all staff discussing important communication and sales shortfalls. Checking and Signing off reports Authorizing transactions Checking and Signing off plus authorizing correctness of bankers work and needs analysis. Motivating applications to credit that was declined eg vehicle finance and homeloans. 10h00 , 12h00 and 14h00 check in with bankers 15h30 to 16h30 telecon daily sales update providing weekly monthly sales action plans
