Good leaning experience

Learned much about chrome, and how it is being processed. Gave me a opportunity to grow my leadership, and people skills as a production teamleader. Provided excellent training to employees, thought us to consider saftey of other not just your self.. Good job

It was an excellent learning curve to go to Tata Steel / Richards bay alloys.

Going to work in the morning and see all flames burning which means furnaces is running fine. My relationship with co workers is very good and we have a family feeling in the section. When we started building the furnaces I had about 750 contract workers under me which was very difficult at first but i made plans and schedules for myself to get to each job at least every 3 days. I enjoy the most working in at team where every body has a opinion about a task and were every body work together. The most challenging part of my job was to get all the Safe operating procedures done on all jobs on the plant. This means that I had to be at each job done and assist on how to do it.

Pros: No opportunity for promotion
Cons: Working long hours and standby because of the 24 hour operation.
