It's a good making money business
I like facing different challenges in a day.Russells furniture is a big company that is operated by a team work so with that I very much enjoy doing my best on every challenges that I'm faced with I dedicate my mind and heart also my time to achieve a job well done. I personally respect everyone personality because simply every one is amazing On everything we do and everyone is different and unique this company it has reached me a lot like control my self at work place,to be responsible, to respect others, to see things in a different eye not to judge but to accept .the most challenging aspects of this job is dealing with a very difficult custom Who doesn't understand the procedure of works and having a system problem .i love my job it keeps my mind stimulated and active all the time.
Pros: It's a great place to work at and a good opportunity
Cons: This job it's doesn't have a knockout time it's always extra hours

Hard work, walking the extra mile. From temp to Manager, relieve regional manager.
Staff meeting, cleaning shop, display, price cards, create cash & credit deals. Scanning deals to head office for approval. Cash up banking, recon with bank statements. Planning promotions. Managers chek list daily. Action plans to improve sales monthly. Profit and lost recon. Work with staff, not just give instructions. Loading customer items. I'm only as strong as my team. Good reationship. Leading by example, Derve respect, can not force that. Praize good results. Hard work and efford, improve yourself, as well as the business. What you put in, you will get out. You are only as strong as your staff is making you. Team work is very important. Listern first then react. Most enjoyable is to achieve budget. Happy customers and staff, give good results. Most challenging, with retrenchment of staff, less staff to get same load of work, and still keep boss happy is not an easy job.
Pros: Not much at this stage, I got an income
Cons: Less staff to do more work. By achieving budget, is still not enough for boss. Draining all staff till the limit, even more. Were always proud to work for a company, lots has been changed.

Good leadership skills and how to handle pressure. never panic
I worked on retailers for the past 18 years and on that 13 years on Store Manager for Russells/Joshua door and Pep Store.I'm a good leader and a hard worker, I work under pressure and play by example.

My experience in working at Russells for 8 9years
I m a self motivated person who plans his day and make sure at the end of the day whatever was planned have been achieved. Im a hard worker and I get along well with poeple. I take instruction from my boss very seriously. Over the years I ve working at russels I've learnt skills that I can use successfully wherever I go. Russels went through a restructuring process where we lost a couple of our team players. The whole team that was left struggled we were forced to be multi skilled.
Pros: The structure of the company was flat and opportunities was available at lower job categories. Since was a manager the next level on top was the area manager and in our region there was only 2 of those positions overlooking 20 stores.
Cons: Retails in most instances is long working hour. That have made me strong I can handle any working hours as long as I will be rewarded. I have also worked under a lot of pressure and I have handled it very well.

Current part time student
I like to work at a friendly inviroment in my own space at a given time and also to socialize when necesary .. I easily adjust to new environments and always ready to relocate.

I am self-motivated, hard working individual who is always willing to get involved in whatever activity that enables the growth and smooth running of my working environment. I am well organized, eager to learn and accept responsibility for any task at hand. I am easy going, ensuring that I operate with the highest level of integrity and professionalism. Being open minded and friendly allows me to relate well with people who in turn make it simple for me to co-ordinate activities, people and time.

Im approciable person willing to fullfil my goal
Basically in my previously company it help me to understand customer needs and important of the customer my challenges is to deal with moodly person but i lways remind my self that customer always right and deal with smile and enjoyed to work as team because i learn more my relationship with my co-worker is good because we challenges each other to make better for being sales

My experience explains that I was underpaid at Russell, but again it was fair as I enjoy working with commission. I enjoyed their supportive structure and professionalism

Excellent learning skills
I Bekithemba Makhasi I started work at Russells as Cashier but after a while they gave me another post as General Clerk i was doing receipting cash, receiving stock and running store alone without any coaching

Learning Curve
Pressure of day to day selling goods to customers , I have good relationship with wherein when I am not in store they proceed with my sales using my number trust isn't an issue from top to button. I have learnt that communication is key and it is important to work in a team and to always have goals. Most challenging thing about the job is dealing with arrogant customers but patience is key coming to that.
