Working at Shoprite is very challenging as well as stressful, because we work many hours without enough pay, they dont pay over time and when you ask why? they tell you are doing the company a favour as if you have a choice, we rate R16 an hour which is way too small according to the normal wage. The Management is condescending, they treat us like young kids.
Pros: very less chances for promotion

i work very hard in a manner of loving what im doing.im very friendly but professional towards my job.i am a commited employee.after working in shoprite it made me be able to manage people and become a problem solver.

Excellent learning period
I enjoy the work very much since it is all about driving and that's what I believe I am born for. My interaction with colleges is always amazing,all about work,I really enjoy being around them since I have good interpersonal relations. I also enjoy working overtime because I am doing something that is in my veins. Climbing of the track after work always feels like saying goodbye to my world for the whole night until the next working day. Even though I enjoy the work,the salary is not enough to make me a good living. I only pay the room and buy food for the month with it,and then its done. There is no progress I'm my life,I'm just working for today,there is no future.

Excellent working with different people
Working with Checkers Hypers Hypers have given me a lot to learn. Enjoyed dealing with my staff in different departments Dealing with suppliers Dealing promoters Dealing with the banks Staff training Enjoyed customers who came back to.me to tell me of my excellent service or given to them by my staff. Challenging about the job was long hours and staying away from my family for long time

Excellent learning curve
Working from 8 to 6 hworking with my colleagues in a respective way, I have also learn to share ideas I enjoyed doing my job with passion I got through a challenge of having to be stricked towards people I know but managed to pull it off

My job is very critical you have to be more carefully,kind and friendly to customers u have to be in an understanding position all the time.. Give a smlile n make sure that your customers leave the shop impressed

Good communication
I'm very friendly and helpful I didn't experience any difficulty even thought it was working for a short period and I've learned to respect customers because they are always fight,manage my time arrive early at work and working together as a team
Pros: Working at the company has helped me in working together as a group,how to manage my time making sure everything is going according and realizing mistake so we can work on them
Cons: We work at least 3 hours a day and the tea time 1 hour 30 minutes so we can gather our strength and get back working and not get tired
