I work as a perishables general worker and I have learnt how to merchandise, provide customer service, placing orders, removing expired stock and how to work with a team

Pros: We have a good communication relationship from management to staff which makes it easier to effect duties
Cons: Balancing between cleanliness and availability of items on shelves has been a challenge that we are still working on

An excellent learning opportunity

i am enjoying my current job as i see it as a learning curve for me and a stepping stone to greater heights.i am learning a lot especially about customer relations and the general management on how to run a retail business

My duties

, My duties include but are not limited to the following: working with price changes, counts of the store, the signage in the store, checking and filing as well as O.B.S. and store portal reports, stock inquiry, wastage and RF stock taking.

Excellent on learning how to be hard worker

treating customers well and good attitude towards customer, treating customer with respect and smiling face toward them. working for irregular hours with limited resources and meet targets, to solve problems of workable solutions with supervisions. listening to co-workers and follow the rules

I have worked for only nine months then I had to go honours

Everyone was working with me in a good manner, I really enjoyed working with them, I have realized that team work really works and and also being given a space to work individually is the best

Customer service

At Shoprite we serve our customers with everything we have, eg,skills, respectively. What i have learned Customer service is very important so that they can come again and again. And as am a General assistant I assist EiSh and every department in oder to learn everything. What challenging most of the time r the customers that we face each and every time and there are not the same.working as a team it's very nice and I learn a lot from individuals.

Excellent Learning Curve

Working at shoprite is more challenging and there are more things to do. You can achieve a good experience which can be of use in various companies. The management gives a task of which the employee can handle.

Good learning

I used to work front admin manager at Shoprite where my duties was to make sure that cash bank always balance (short and overs) shrinkage of the store to be less than 1% as the company standard requires.manage stock stake from binning to counting to achieve better result.making sure there is 100% health and safety in the store by giving training to the staff. And a had good relationship with the staff by being fair and firm to everyone. I learned most on how to discipline and coach the staff member who act like not belonging to the company.the most challenging part it was whereby you find that the store or float is short by a certain amount of money and investigation took long to find the reason of short.
