Hi I am currently working for Transnet Engineering as a Qualified Turner Machinist Artisan with a section 13 Red seal, I am now working for 5years on a cnc machine in Production and manufacturing, I am currently earning 22000.00 before deduction.

Apprentice at Transnet Engineering
A very inspiring individual who believes in going extra mile and adding value in people's lives. I have a good interpersonal and communication skills, responsible, approach to any task that I undertake or situation that I am presented with. For a duration of 6 months doing the on job training, I was put in a team and working as an millwright, learning duties of an artisan. I was exposed to all the work that is done on the floor at maintenance workshop. I was a great opportunity working at Transnet engineering, I gained lots of skills such as PLC's, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, motors, pumps, cranes. The most challenging aspects were to finish lot of work at a scheduled time but we always managed because we were working as a team

Trained apperantice welder
I'm hardworking person and self driven trustworthy and capable of duties and responsibilities also enthusiasm about my trade and adapting very well and willing to learn and explore about welding and gain more experience. I learn more things about previous organization and I'm approachable person. I weld underframe of CR19 Wagons . surface preparation and various final welding stations and side and end's.

Good company
Generous company with benefits for employees. No retrenchment. Good bonus for employees. Realistic working hours. Leveled playing field for females. Lots of opportunities once you in the company. Transnet empowers the youth and helps those in need with many charity drives. The company is big so there are lots of opportunities in many different fields and sectors.

I have grown within this organisation
one manages her time. you are only given targets. How you go about executing them is solely up to the individual. that is one thing i love about my current organisation. This enable one to have a balanced life.

I need a job not working anymore
I am a qualified artisan been working for Transnet the past 14 years and I currently not working there anymore, I am very good with audio and I was born naturally with technical mind.. I am a inovator Nd easily adjust to pressure.

Experienced Welder
A Qualified welder with 3-4 years experience in a manufacturing industry. Worked with fitter welding pipes and doing all welding process. Modifying brackets and all components under frame of trains. Have been trained for three years in Training school of Transnet School Engineering where I obtained beta quality of welding. Was employed as an Artisan for 4 years

- A typical work day - Have a meeting with product developers to understand their requirements - Formulate a design solution with specialist designers - Meetings with contracted suppliers on outsourced design & development work to discuss and clarify the our requirements of the external supplier - Attend tender adjudication meetings - Attend project progress meetings and technical meetings - Visit workshop for addressing any workshop challenges experienced on the design in manufacturing - Relationship with co-workers - Very good relationship with co-workers, - What I have learnt - Team work - Effective reporting - Work planning - What you enjoy most - Interacting with different units of the company (Logistics, Procurement, Operations etc.) - The most challenging aspects of the job - Multitasking and the involvement in different units tasks
