Engineering orientated

I have completed apprenticeship in March 2011. I was appointed at Power Electronics work shop in July 2011, refurbishing and programming 18E A-gate components and refurbishing 10 E choppers. January 2012 I was appointed at Witbank Depot as a Master Artisan working on 18E fleet. I have been preparing trains before departure and fixing faulty locomotives and attending call outs on faulty locomotives of both MMC and Coal line. Recently I am trained on class 22E locomotive. I have ambitions of enhancing my skills and knowledge in Engineering. I am a Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) candidate I should be writing the board exam in June 2018.

Willing to learn

Daily tasks meet successfully,delivery dates were discussed with all personal for the work programme and the relationship with colleges and supervisees was great.Everything was communicated everyday in the meeting and we all had the chance give our opinions.

Pros: chance to get self development short courses
Cons: too much overtime to work

ELECTROMECHANICAL

I'm Madavha A,I qualified as millwright(ELECTROMECHANICAL) and I have N3 up to N6 in both electrical and mechanical so I'm willing to work because I have experience of working in the industry machines.I have good relationship with my colleagues so actually I'm friendly

Develop, design and SOP assessment tools in order to gather evidence during assessments

Plan and conduct theoretical practical assessments in order to assess operational knowledge and skills. Develop, design and SOP assessment tools in order to gather evidence during assessments And Provide feedback to the candidate on the assessment outcome / performance in order to close the identified gaps and discuss observation and knowledge. Report on progress to management so that they are informed and can take action where appropriate. Provide feedback to curriculum developers on the assessment short comings in order to close the identified gaps Review assessments and prepare documentation for audits, moderation and comply to QA standards or specification. Submit assessments results to the depot training co-ordinator in order capture / update the learner management system Record and keep manual / electronic data through the standardised system and processes provided by Transnet

Im an intelligent person who adapt easily in any situation

Im a person with a Disability and being at Transnet for past 15years has been a learning curve as i learnt not be confined by other peoples definition. Ive have learnt a lot from warehouse, shopfloor and demand/supply method applied a lot in my skills.

Pros: Im an excellent worker who works at best willing to assist at all times
Cons: Planning work requires lot of time as we work with targets.

Great space for growing students

I faced huge challenges that made me grow in decision making and career wise. Intoduces a chance to interact with different kinds of people and gives growth to leadership and team work skills. I got a chance to work with logistics team in the inventory and also planning I worked with Quality department in reducing NCR's every month Worked at a Lean department were i was responsible for making process improvements

Training Centre

The place where I am is a training centre School of Engineering at Transnet Freight Rail building in North End. The centre does a 3 year Apprentice programs deals with training Electricians. It develops youth and prepares them to be an asset and be able to solve problems effectively.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: Training on old equipements and components
