I'm a single point of contact when coming to any aspect pertaining ICT, reporting direct to our accounting officer (CEO) which give me an enjoyable working environment as she does not practise micro-management on her staff.

The importance of recruitment for the company culture
Company is small so working relations and friendships are formed. Work is mostly routine but very busy around Audit and Risk Committee and Members meetings. Work culture is not in line with my own personal work ethic or expectations of a professional environment but the issue is being addressed. Feel that recruitment panels need to match individuals with a company that has same or similar values.
Pros: Close to home
Cons: Government salaries sometimes above private sector salaries due to annual increases and notches that the private sector dont have so it makes it difficult to get a position outside of government and state-owned entities.

Great learning curve, seeking a new challenge in a diverse environment
I am currently working at Companies Tribunal in Sunnyside Pretoria located in the DTI campus. Here I work as a Human Resources Intern and my daily duties include but not limited to assisting the HR Deputy Manager with all admin duties; filing, opening employee files and making sure everything is in order recruitment and induction of new employees, approving leave on the ESS VIP System, updating and developing new company policies, dealing with employee performance management by doing appraisals and calculating scores, training, assisting in setting up presentations to be shown to executives and other general HR office duties.
Pros: small company, developed great relationships with co-workers
