Excellent learning curve

Performing audits, computing taxes, drafting financial statements, compiling a management accounts, managing audit teams and so on. I had exposure to clients from various industries including manufacturing, retail, property, micro-lending, logistics and so on. I got to gain excellent skills in Excel, Caseware, Pastel and also working with different kinds of people. I also got to deal with different kinds of problems clients face. The most challenging aspect of the audits we performed was when I had to deal with a difficult client who withheld work until the last minute and then expected us to finish it. In cases like these we had to put in extra time ie work at home just to ensure the files is complete, timeously submitted and within budget. I enjoyed working with Excel and simplifying data and extracting crucial information which we can use for the audit. Working also with Caseware and doing all sorts of things on it like drafting financial statements or computing taxes, etc

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Working with difficult clients who refuse to cooperate
