As an Assistant Director who is acting in the capacity of a Deputy Director my roles emplies
In my current position I have succeeded in positioning employees for career growth through performance management tools, a role that is highly underpinned by legislation as well as my experience in managing the proper implementation performance management policy by offering support to different directorates to aligning their annual performance plan to the strategic objectives of the department and further ensuring that the annual performance plan are translated into operational plan which are thereafter used as terms of reference for line management performance agreements. I was also responsible for handling matters pertaining to the auditor general by maintaining close relations and reporting monthly, quarterly and yearly to the monitoring and evaluation directorate on directorate’s performance against pre set targets.

Good as average learning curve
I have learnt a lot and be knowledgeble in the building field as a whole since i have been out of job after completing my national certificate in 2000. I have enjoyed working in the gorvenment and I have good relationship with my colleques as I am doing survey on identified services and compile specification and bill of quantities, assist works inspector on handing over site to contractors, monitor quality of work and workmanship for day-day maintenance and emergency service, attend meetings with contractors and clients and compile weekly report.

Good Place for non-corporate culture
A typical work day would be, clocking in at 07:30 am, thereafter preparing a daily property inspections list base on importance and urgency, checking out emails and responding. After that, we had out for inspections. I try to do provincial portfolio analysis along with real estate market research. The work environment is fair,I would says probably C grade office buildings. People are very friendly and often approachable but most of the time possessive of tools of trade, and information. I have learned that as an individual you need to socialize and connect with people professionally; and when you are given tasks make sure you complete them timely and in an expected quality. I really enjoy working with numbers, analyzing the value of properties, and loss to leases, real estate market research thus to keep updated with provincial investments opportunities.
Pros: Excellent learning curve for someone who's willing to work in a public sector for a long-term, especially when it comes to public infrastructure projects and property management systems
