Great service delivery to the public

Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, office of the Surveyor General Limpopo is a national government department responsible for cadastral surveys in the Limpopo province. It deals with examination and approval of cadastral documents and sectional titles plan, survey of state land and coordination of land claims and land reform projects. It is an institution of learning for young surveyors and a great place for those who are about to retire.

Pros: Little chance for promotion
Cons: Normal working hours

Excellent learning curve

It is a very good working environment where I have to be very alert as we are dealing with payments to thousands of people and we need to very the accuracy of all the captured details prior to capturing the payment. I have learnt to be faster and more accurate. My attention to details has improved drastically and applying policies and ensuring compliance. The most challenging aspect about my work is having a high number of payment from the provinces to process with a 0% acceptance level for error.

Pros: Good working condition
Cons: Not great opportunity for growth within

Challenging and excellent learning curve

Everyday is challenging, one need to be ready to have a hectic day as everyone is expected to work extra hours if necessary. The exposure of being on the farm every single day is very challenging since I am the only female on the farm everyday. Other females are hired to work during production practices as casual workers. I have a very good relationship with my co workers and we respect each other. Everyone in the farm knows his/her own daily work. The challenging part of working in the farm is that I am working with adults who only know more about indigenous production chain so it is difficult for me to convince them to also mix with the modern ways of production. The part I enjoy most is when casuals are hired and I am in charge of being their instructor. It feels good to explain to people more especially when you are respected and given attention.

Pros: Great experience gain
Cons: Long working hours and being alone to manage the whole farm alone

I have learnt quite a lot and I think, with this knowledge again, I will rise above the rest.

The job is challenging, you make your discretion manage time to finish things on time and meet deadlines. Co-workers are friendly and helpful. I have learn team work communicating is the key both verbally and body language and I have learn BAS and I enjoy updating payments on the spread sheet, and capturing payments on BAS. the difficult part of the job aspect is checking Logis documents for correctness and Subsistence claims and interdepartmental claims documents.

Pros: great opportunities for Promotion, Well informed team that will give me the edge
Cons: long working hours, tasks no clearly explain, some work left to your own risk

Excellent work condition

We were working very good with my team, finishing the given projects at a given period and we had good relationship. I learnt to work alone and make sure that errors and mistakes are limited in much of the work. Respect, and seek knowledge to the senior workers.

Pros: Leading the projects was my position
Cons: Sometimes I had to sleep just only three hours due to the load of work.

I learnt much on this field and a lot about different people, diversity and cultures.

My workplace is a great place to work, the environment is so good as I have a good working relationship with my co-workers. I learnt so much on the field of supply chain management and a lot about different kinds of people, diversity and cultures. the most thing that I enjoy working for my company is the fact that I get to know the procedures of government procurement and supply chain as a whole. the most challenging aspect of my job is to have service providers who always do not comply to the requirements of the project at a given time which affects the project deadline.

Pros: its a great work opportunity
Cons: the working hours are normal

It is very interesting to work for my company

My job requires mostly field works and office work I have a good relationship with my colleagues as most of the field work requires team work I have learnt lot working with communities, writing reports and memorandums for approval by the minister. I enjoy office work the most more than field work. the most challenging aspects of the work is doing field work and resolving conflicts amongst communities, because it sometimes takes time to reach a resolution.

Pros: I need a new job
Cons: long working hours during field works
