Internship

Working hours is 7-4, Small office with less than 30 employees. We treat each other with respect, we like one big family. Working at Home Affairs it is not easy as it seems but if you have the love if customer it will be easy. I learnt a a lot, how to treat customers and always put yourself under customer's shoes.

Pros: Great exposure
Cons: 7am - 4pm

Excellent esperience, the issue is there is no growth.

There is a lot of people at the conatct centre but we have teams of 10 empoyees with a team leader each. my team works together and we have a good work relationship, we rely on each other regarding work because there are a lot of things we do and everyone masters certain things, we always ask each other to remind our selves of the right information regarding enquiries and changes with the information as it always change. we work as a team.

Pros: there is no much great opportunity for growing at the coontact centre but the whole department in general has more opportunities
Cons: Working hours are perfect, i work from 07:30 to 16:00 with 30min lunch break and no tea break at all, its custoers service and we need to be available all the time .

Challenging situation

Very reliable person, endure working under pressure. Hard worker,Jerk of all trade. What I like about home affairs there is no discrimination against disabled people. The level of working is flat. But now have worked there for 11 years at support and civic section I really need new pastures

Pros: Greener pastures
Cons: Rotation

Great experiance

Working at home affairs has opened up more about what to expect at work and not what to expect as a graduate. Being thrown to whaty you have not expexted and learn to work even though your mind is not at it but try to give it your best for your own good and recognition sat workplace. Co - workers are well and supportive more especially the executive. Like at any other work place there are those who feel threatend by younglinks as to they are there to get rid of them but innitially we are there to get experience and help them gorw where they lack at as it is the IT generation now. In a nut shel, i conclude. It has been experancial working in a diversitified environment.

Pros: knowing the depatment as a whole
Cons: its not what i applied for.
