In each & every project we learn different things as their scope of work is never the same
As for the department that I work for my typical day will start with the daily diary meeting as I oversee multiple contractors for all our capital & expansion projects to try establish activities for the day & also to see if all the necessary resources are available to execute all those planned activities & if not what help is required from me or my department. Being in the project team makes it exciting to wake up in the morning & want to go to work because you do something for certain years or months after that you see what you erected or constructed delivering amazing results & breaking records which give such a very satisfying filling. The most challenging part of my work is making sure each & every employee on the project go home safely as when he/she came to work because that impacts negatively on our records as a department & personally it does not give one a good feeling when someone sustain an injury.
Pros: I was promoted to my current position & I was targeting to be a senior Clerk Of Works
Cons: We sometimes work long ours when is necessary & we no longer worry about that(not a problem)

Daily Work
My relationship with my colleques is very good as we often sit together once in three months to have a team building type of a braai helps in getting close to one another & just to mingle & share personnal problems. Myself individually is where I come in to address the issue of quality control plans & determining the hold points & the sequence of evnts on how the entire job is going to be executed. Challenging part is making sure that the project is getting completed in time & reducing the number of standing time & site instruction. Over & above all is to make sure that all the workers work safely all the times because the injury to employees could have a far reaching consequences especially with thi new construction regulations.
Pros: Commissioning
Cons: Safety injury

It is a very excellent company to gain knowledge and training for the Chemical engineering field.
My normal working day is very hectic yet enjoyable. I work 8 hours a day. For the past 10 months I have trained at all the 4 (four) different sections at the OPNIM domain and have completed modules for 3 sections. I have completed modules for the IPt and Double Deta section, the Ion Exchange section and the Rhodium purification section. In the past 10 months I have learnt a lot about the processing and purification of Rhodium and Iridium, which are the two metals that my domain deals with. I truthfully say that all the process controllers at OPNIM domain are very helpful and it has been a great honor to work with people that have so much experience in my filed. I running the processes, especially at the Ion Exchange section because it very challenging and the challenge brings about a form of excitement and the desire to want to know and be competent in successfully running the section. The most challenging aspects of my training is having to work extra hours or weekend
Pros: The opportunity to better oneself is very limitted
Cons: Working at Impala is very good. It sometimes gets hectic and we have to put in extra hours and even work weekends.
