Great learning experience and awesome team work.

Start work at 8am. Finish 10pm at night. Very busy and always rushed. Daily reports to be submitted early as well as during the course of the day. Over see any repairs that need to be done, parts ordering as well as attend to any breakdowns any where between Durban and Johannesburg. Issue drivers with equipment for Break-bulk loading and to ensure cargo is secured correctly and that they return equipment to whs. Liaise with staff members regarding job functions and problems they experiencing whilst performing those duties. I have learnt to be a very patient and understanding individual as the type of people I work with vary in the way the carry themselves. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishing a task allocated to me especially if its something that I haven't done before. The most challenging aspect of my job is meeting deadlines that are seemingly impossible to meet but with hard work, a lot of hours and teamwork we accomplish it.

Great mechanical experience gained

I work 7 days a week 12hours per day if not more when required. Handle and see to all maintenance aspects of the company fleet and maintain diesel, profits and loss, maintenance and salaries register. I attend to all breakdowns all over the country and oversee the offloading of all cargo relieved as well as the dispatching of all cargo. I carry out all interviews and disciplinary queries.

Pros: Working with good motivated people
Cons: Extremely long hours
