Daily Routine And Challenges

The company has two factories 65kms apart. My function in the company is to ensure that the all equipment and buildings throughout the company are kept and maintained in as prestine a condition as possible. The position is extreemly challenging and highly pressurised with each day presently new and unique challenges. No two days are ever alike and each day totally unpredictable. When I get the chance I process paperwork such as invoices, reports, leave forms, project planning, electrical drawings and upgrades and so on. Added to the general maintenance and repairs , at any moment I am overseeing anything between 5 and 10 projects which I continuously implement to automate or improve the company assets or production output. Planning each day for myself is extremely difficult. Each day is totally unpredictable with never a dull moment. Prioritising tasks and work in itself becomes a priority and is an integral part to my success within the company.

Pros: The learning curve never ends, be it on the technical side, improvements in automation or down to understanding how to manage a team of different characters and personalities.
Cons: The old quote of how to eat an elephant...piece by piece, wellwe have aherd of elephnts and getting to the bottom of the list with limited resources means that achieving set goals usually takes longer than I woud like so that would be a con.
