was employed as a laboratory technician at Medical Diagnostech (Pty) Ltd for 2 years, in which I developed MD’s trade gold nanoparticle formulation and various in vitro diagnostic medical devices, that are currently being sold commercially. As a result of my effective leadership, and ability to master new roles and methodology with efficiency and accuracy, I was promoted to laboratory manager in 2013. Since then, I have supervised and successfully trained several interns that have passed through the company via MD’s partnership with the National Nanoscience Postgraduate Teaching and Training Programme (NNPTTP) at the University of the Western Cape. I overseen all research and development and production at Medical Diagnostech (Pty) Ltd

Good learning opportunity

I it great working at Medical Diagnostech, I get to deal with all kinds of queries as well as people.i do find it sometimes difficult dealing with certain co-workers especially if I am not given a chance to speak my mind, made out to be a liar etc.I have never worked on the programme quickbooks, I am now doing quotations, invoices, getting reports. Everything I do is a challenge and that is one of the things I enjoy. For me to do my job efficiently, I need to prioritise, sometimes that may be a bit difficult.

Pros: Good company to work for
Cons: co-workers not team players in the work place
