Wanting to learn more

A typical work day for me would be, i always get to work early to ensure that everything is in order and ready for our patient i see that the waiting area is neat and tidy, i check that i have all the necessary documents for patients to complete and sign ie: admission forms/ private patient forms ect... Each day is a challenge where as i have to deal with difficult patients all the time due to patients being overwhelmed and anxious when coming to a hospital, i know how that feels because that is exactly how i feel. i always try and calm them to the best of my ability ensuring them that they are in a safe place where they will receive the necessary treatment ect.. I work at a hospital as admissions clerk in the trauma unit, what i enjoy most about my job is working with the senior citizens and kids, they are always the nervous ones.. Working at the hospital has taught me to respect and care for people.. I work well with my co-workers and i can also work well on my own

Pros: its an excellent company to work, it comes with alot of pressure like any other job
Cons: i do work long hours and shifts which consists of 12 hour and 24 hour shifts at times

Very good growth opprtunities

Learn something new everyday. Good relationship with co-workers. Enjoy the challenges everyday. I have learnt many new things over the years in the industry.

Extensive growth

-my day at work was always filled with good vibes. Although we had a tough days we always pulled together as a team to get the job done. -what i appreciated most about working at this company, they never limited my learning and growth. i was always encouraged to go above my knowledge to gain more. Even though working with people from all walks of life can really test and push your patient at times, the greatest reward was always knowing you were able to help someone at the end of the day. And the patients always acknowledged your efforts by informing management. Appreciation is the word that comes strongly to mind.

Learning experience excellent

It's a very good company to work for, just the hours are very long ,I work 12 hour shifts and every second weekend on , great working with patients, helping the senior citizens..learning new things every day working with nursing staff and doctors

Good for contacts

Not the best of hospitals to work at. No room for growth and no benefits. Some of the employees are a dream to work with and the rest all want to be in charge.

Structure not in place . reached my goal

I'm a hard working person , eager to learn new things and a very balanced attitude. Love to laugh , chat when time . Overall we at our work place most of our life and don't need to be unpleasant at work

Very big learning curve

Awesome HR team. Very supportive collegues Busy environment always something happening Due to this environment there is always things happening (Private Hospitals) Lots of IR issues Recruiting is big happens on a daily basis Alot of CCMA work

My experience

I am respected, as I have respect towards other people. I am a very honest, trustworthy person and always like to go the extra mile. Receipting (allocations), recons of accounts, journals, refunds, follow up on my age as part of my collections. Dealing with queries, liaising with the medical aids. Doing ambulance quotes for events, invoicing on chemo facility fee. Handing over account s to legal,dealing with late Estate accounts and procedures. Oversee the correct allocation of the bank statement. Doing Bank reconciliation.i have a passion for what I am doing.

Pros: no promotion possible, as family concern
Cons: no protocols in place
