Operating technological equipment likeauto diluter, dispenser Carry out a routine maintance for instruments Reporting analytical data to LIMS.

Excellent learning environment with exposure to processing of different minerals.
A typical work day includes -communicating with clients, reporting findings to clients verbally or written; leading project team; ensuring administration tasks are up to date; ensuring OSH Act is followed and practiced; Data analysis; -Relations with co-workers are civil and very professional -I have learnt a lot in terms of mineral processing and process flowsheet development -I enjoy training and transferring skills to worker integrated learners -Balancing administration duties with technical duties

Excellent learning curve
I work more than 8 hours everyday. Doing laboratory work, experiments, Sample analysis, and many more. I work very well with my colleagues, I enjoy working in teams and also independently. The most challenging part is not having enough facility for the characterization of work done in the lab. I mostly enjoy the team spirit always portrayed! the support from supervisors and colleagues and the work ethic.

Complicated environment
Mintek has a homely environment but very terrible organization culture. To much uncertainty with career progression and advancement. No benefits at all, poor bonus incentive system

Hiding under scrutiny radar
Some of the key leadership positions are occupied by incompetent and morally and ethically compromised individuals. The HR and Finance departments are dysfunctional as policies get bypassed to suit wishes of certain individuals. Recruitment and Promotions are for friends and family members of certain inflential executives. Some core departments are led by an incompetent racist bully who does as he pleases and appears to be untouchable. Mintek is just one of many examples of failing SOEs led by black executives.
