Working in a big company, , with many productive machinery to maintain.

We attend the breakdowns, daily inspections and weekly maintenance on conveyor belts, tips vibrators.Also standbys where we also attend the call outs including pumps, , rockbreakers, , chairlifts ventilation fans and clarification plant.

Pros: promotion opportunity it's not promising due to low skills in my category.
Cons: we are working long hours when belt snap

To work with different cultures

Modikwa has decline shafts going underground is not the problem any time of the day.you can go to the working places anytime except when shaft is cleared for blasting or re-entry period.

Good learning experience

I work 8 hours. my work includes a lot of sampling for test work projects. i also do data analysis after each test work. I also monitor plant downtimes . I enjoy working with my colleagues, infact we are a great team. i have learnt a lot on plant optimization projects, project handling, and have improved my presentation skills. the callenging part is that the work load is too much as before we were a group of 8 and now there's only four people in the team

Its a good company

working as time and attendance clerk is a very outstanding jobs.. I have good relationship with my employees because most of them I have work with them underground. I have learned to be a team player among your mates and respect. I enjoy working with employees working as a team...and can do individual work. the most challenging thing working with employees who are very hard headed

Pros: you can get exposures of certain jobs in the field

I started my career at Modikwa Platinum Mine north shaft in 2003-02-25 as a pump attend,2004- 05 trained as stopped service man.And 2010-10-25 I did my trade test as a fitter under section 28,in2015-01-12i was trained under the recognition of prior learning trade test as a fitter under section 26D

Pros: Hard working person and drive by newbh I gkj hm challenge
Cons: Sand by,long hours and Sunday labour

A Leanlrning Curve

I have learned that proper planing prevents poor performance.I have an good working relationship with co workers and clients.What i enjoy the fast pace end tough environment to work in.Every day is a new chalange and deadline driven. It is Debtors and Creditors,Payments,reviews,Recons,Cash management.Handeling my team all in one day.

I am working as an electrician for trackless mining helping in maintaining the mine machinery. I sometimes help Sandvik electricians on doing fault finding on drill rigs. But my main duties as per mine is to work on pumps,fans,busting boxes and doing rig box extentions or forward moves

Pros: I love learning as part of my knowledge increase
Cons: 12hours

Excellent learning curve

Good place for implementation of new systems. Challenging as standards are not yet in place, requires hard work in terms of reviewing old systems, training, implementation and evaluation of implemented systems. Team willing to learn and change.

Pros: Great opportunity for promotion
Cons: Limited resources and working environment not ideal for family

Weekly review

I have an open invitation to all the workers. I visit their work place in a schedule. This allow me and my management to assist the work force in all their goals.

Pros: Working as a safety practitioner is not an easy job. It production against safety and this conflict of interest is the most cause of death in work places. If production managers can be safety conscious a lot of this regret able incidents can be eliminated.
Cons: Working long hrs is not an easy way but if they are guided by the labour laws to say 48hrs per week overtime included.
