Excellent learning curve

When I started working at the station it was exciting as I was venturing into a totally new industry, everything I had to do was different as I studied towards working for government or in support of government. here I am entering in the media industry, working with government and other institutions as clients. I have a wonderful working relationship with my co-workers. I have learned the importance of letting go when time comes, sometimes employees tend to over stay their welcome at the work place. I also learned to work with differrent people at different levels from all walks of life and managed to secure good business and customer relations. I think time has come for me to explore other career opportunities. the most challenging aspects of my job was negotiating air time rates with start up business, because people have the notion that a community radio station does not need to generate income so they actually want to advertise for free.

Typical work day

working at radio turf is challenging one is required to work under pressure we have a meeting everyday @10 to arrange iterviews and cover some stories. some in the meantime will be reading news and compiling scripts. I work well with mu core workers, and I enjoy going out to cover stories

Excellent company

It's a great company especially as a training ground because a lot of people who are making it big in the industry started or are trained by radio turf. So during the stay with radio turf there are lot of things that one learn and be ready to compete in the corporate word with other fellows. I did manage to learn quite lot of things about the industry because I treated the company as mine
