Railway Safety Regulator Reviews

Excellent learning curve

The RSR is a great company to work for. There are lot of opportunities for growth and development especially when you are starting a career. It is a young organisation in terms of workforce age as well as existent. The relationship with colleagues is very great, its a homely environment and employees live the values of the organisation. There are no issues of bureaucracy and at times learning is through the hard way by being put in the deep end. There is a lot of pressure that affect one's wellness due to unrealistic deadlines.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Long working hours

Conducive working environment

My type of work involves working both in the office and visiting operators to conduct audits, inspections and investigations in their sites. We have a good working relationship in our office which is based in our company values which are Integrity and Trust; Transparency; Fairness and Equity; Innovation and Speed of Execution. During my stay with company I have learnt team work, strategy development and execution, leadership and mentoring of junior staff, time management using project management concept. Some of the challenges include working irregular and long hours, balancing relationship with stakeholders and execution of our company mandate.

Pros: Involvement when serious decicions are taken.
Cons: Irregular and long working hours and sometimes stay work away from home

Good prospects for growth

My typical day at the Railway Safety Regulator involves a whole lot of interaction and stakeholder relations. In any given day I would ensure that the Executive Managers, Heads of Departments and Line Managers are happy and satisfied with the manner in which labour related matters are being handled particularly where it involves conflict, discipline and grievances. It is such an exciting experience, one that allows any professional to learn new things.

Pros: Better opportunities for growth and development
Cons: keeps one his toes at all times
