Good experience in terms of diverse technical exposure.

Good experience in BI, and being the technical go to for a large group of developers and technical BI resources. An average day would cover database migrations, OS support on the database servers and the application servers. Creating and presenting of capacity reports on a weekly basis. Running a BI infrastructure on databases, that have used on average 95% of disk capacity. Timing of archived log backups are critical, and besides running every hour, they will sometimes be run manually as well. Managing large data loads, where the RMAN backups clean up the used space from the archive logs slower then the new logs are created. Working for around seven different teams, that are perpetually busy with projects that are behind schedule, and in a semi-state of emergency. Working with personality types that can be described as A type personalities, and building relationships with difficult people. Regards, Franz.

Pros: Great team to be in from a perspective of the diverse technologies to support.
Cons: Working environment that has degenerated into an environment with no team spirit.
