Working with people from all levels, problem solving and unity. Development of a new culture.

My greatest ability is people management, recruitment, onboarding etc . I was able to establish a new Company culture which resulted in the employees resigning from the unions, and ring-fenced company from the outside world and all worked together as one team in the best interest of the Company and therefore the total compliment together. I enjoy an outstanding rapport with all co-workers and seen as a friend and father figure. Replaced the Shop Steward meetings with my own form of collective communication which involved all. Challenged to encourage staff and Management to change their attitude of a Them and Us to a we together. Loved doing it and it is my legacy.

Pros: I am a fit active, healthy person who has years to impart my knowledge to the next generation.
Cons: I work a 12 hour day

Verg fruitful

I did daily inspection on all campus, maintenance, cleaning., printing Depts. I had a very good relationship with staffs & managements. During my time I learnt how to treat costomers & public. I enjoyed working with people & helping to solve problems. The most challenging was to deal with students.

Pros: started in the maintenance dept to Act Director.
Cons: 24 hours

Excellent learning curve

I usually started my work at 7:30 am collaboratively plan my day, make sure that the most urgent work gets done first.l had a good relationship with you co-workers,l felt contented and motivated when working at the office and eventually led to improved my performance and increased productivity. However, building a healthy relationship with my co-workers was not easy as it sounds.As a team often consists of people with different and sometimes even conflicting characters,l have to work on finding the right way to handle and communicate with them.l have learned to developed skills and capabilities.Working in an environment of strict deadlines taught me how to be self disciplined.l enjoyed most because my job had a wide variety of apportunities.The most challenging aspect l dealt with special cases from the office of the CEO .l had to resolved before close of business.

Pros: There's was apportunity for promotion
Cons: No working long hours

Freedom to take responsibility

Motivating staff to achieve targets. Constant monitoring and evaluating stock loss and gains. Implementing procedures and controls. Analyzing reasons for gains and losses. Achieving set targets. Motivation of staff. Linking of controls and procedures to other departments.

Pros: Being recognized for good work.
Cons: In house politics.

Excellent in measuring Safety and Performance

This being a company that was excellent in measuring Safety incidents yourself and minute by minute production performance and continuous improvement in your area of responsibility have daily meetings with your teams and service providers and onside meetings re safety and production doing CTO'S and your weekly and montly inspections as required make sure your teams are in line with their personnel PDP'S - You and your Supervisor 's should have a daily monitoring system in place regarding the Safety and Performance of your teams if they are on track and to have plans in place no your people by heart and respect them and have a proper system in place re rewards for performance and a good discipline but fair towards your persons in your team work as a unit and respect others in the company

Pros: With a big company a possibility
Cons: Sometimes draining

Willing to work anywhere

I am 59 year old hydraulic technician. Worked at Tongaat Hulet sugar Felixton Empangeni for 11 years. We currently living in Richards Bay in Richards Bays caravan park so to relocate is not a problem. I can move my caravan anywhere. I have my own tools, and own transport. I am also good with plumbing, carpentry, welding.

Pros: I am a very friendly person. People like my personality. Get along with anyone.
Cons: Used to work alone. Hours very long.

My job as Head of Department (CPO) was very stressful, challenging but enjoyed my work.

Challenges on daily basis. Work environment with the various people from Non whites through to whites. All races. Motivation of staff on a daily basis. Uniform orders to HR. Biggest challenges was to have all staff at work daily and worked out time roster if staff not pitching to fill the gaps. Vehicles to exit the yard on time. Time Management and Disciplinary action enforced as well as counceling

Pros: Work done at the end of the day
Cons: Stresfull working conditions to see if all Teams arrived back at Base

Excellent learning curve

Good working conditions. Loved being the bookkeeper, doing bank reconciliations and daily cashflow, petty cash, cashbook ,creditors, debtors, general ledger. Processing all of the mentioned and doing the relevant reconciliations. Producing the Manament Accounts monthly and doing the month end function on Syspro.

Pros: Allowed to work without supervision.
Cons: Not much back up from management

Good coworkers, good challenges, Goo rewards

I usually start work at 08:00 and finishwhenever the work is done.There is a large group of highly skilled co-workers taht we all bounce things off each other. The challenges are that no prpoblen os usually the same. This is what I also enjoy about the company and the jpb.

Pros: Different problems to solve every day. Highly experienced co-workers
Cons: Takes tooo long to get things done in a large company
