Developing the EHS System from the scratch (zero) to continual improvement stage.

When I started in the company the Loss Time Injury Frequency Rate was above 20 and now to date is 0.00 We have management to reach an LTI Free Rate of 0.00 on the 06th of September 2017. I enjoy equipping the employees to look after their own safety and that of co-workers but not limited to workplace. This act should be performed 24/7 in and outside the workplace. I also remind the workers to apply their lesson learnt even at home. It is more challenging when the EHS Management System is not being supported from top management to bottom. It is also challenging if communication process does not reach all levels in the organisation. What I enjoy the most is to team up with everyone in the business and work together towards achieving a zero harm workplace 24/7 and 365 days a year.

Pros: I believe so as soon as I complete my National Diploma in Safety Management
Cons: Normal hours

Typical work day

Various administration, financial and HR tasks involved in a typical work day. Full function accounting on stock, production in a manufacturing company that manufactures precast concrete products. I am in charge of the full administration function of the business unit and fully understand the operations and management departments, I assist on a daily basis. I am also involved in the budget and various big projects for example the most recent Rokwil/Cacile project at King Shaka Airport. I have a very good relationship with my co-workers as well as Management and Head Office staff. I also have an open door policy and work very good on my own and as part of a team. I have been through many external and internal audits - with very good feedback every time. I have very high standards set in my work and always do my best. I also enjoy my work very much, but feel its time for me to spread my wings. I want to learn more and gain more experience.

Pros: very nice working environment
Cons: No great opportunity for promotion

Have achieve my goals in my current position

We work 5 days a week from Monday till Friday = to 180hrs a month Manage the quality management system and quality control. Check that materials and products are tested as per SABS and ISO9001 We have good relationship with all employees and try to be open and fair. Respect is the key to success. I have learn how to deal with different kind of people and handle each situation differently. When ever we implement new sytems and it works effectively, I feel like job welldone. I try to achieve motive "to work smarter and not harder" by also getting the same results. Customer complaints need to be address immediately and although the customer is wrong we need to satisfy him.

Pros: Need a new challenge.
Cons: Starting time is not suitable.
